What an exciting time at our church! As new members joined the Church Council and existing members continued service, the council started the year blessed to be called to serve and humbled by the responsibility. Thank you to those who rolled off the council at the end of 2022 for your years of service
Several fundraisers will be held this year to support the missions and ministry of CHBC The Valentine’s Day Bake Sale and Auction was a big success, raising $1,588 for the general fund Thank you to all who baked, bid and helped
As restrictions lift from Covid and we can gather in more and varied ways, plans are being made for church-wide socials to give us a chance to reconnect. Mark your calendars for March 19th for a potluck after church.
The Long-Range Planning Team presented the results from the listening sessions and online survey responses to the council in February Thank you to all who have participated so far Your ideas and thoughtful discussions are the beginning of short, medium and long-term plans The data gathered so far will be organized and brought back to the church so that we can find ways to put these ideas into action. It is not too late to participate in the Long-Range planning survey or the Gifts Affirmation survey. We want to hear from you!
WITH SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS HAPPENING, IT IS HARD TO PICK WHICH ONES TO HIGHLIGHT THIS MONTH. THE COUNCIL IS LOOKING FORWARD TO A WONDERFUL YEAR OF WORKING WITH THE TEAMS AND CONGREGATION AS WE WALK IN THE WAY OF JESUS AND FIND THOUGHTFUL AND AUTHENTICATE WAYS TO CONNECT AND SERVE.

If you eat a tomato or other fresh produce during the winter months, there is a very good chance that it came from the small town of Immokalee, Florida Rick and Ellen Burnette are our Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) missionaries who minister to those farmworkers
Almost half of the 30,000 workers who harvest food for us don’t have enough food to feed themselves. The Burnettes, with a network of dozens of partner gardeners, share fresh produce with 300500 food bank clients And as members of Crescent Hill Baptist Church, you have a part in helping feed those same migrant workers who picked the produce you are eating right now.
In order to pick up all this donated produce from across three southwest Florida counties, the missionaries relied on a 20- year- old open-bed pickup truck for delivery of 15 tons of produce each year
Their dream had been to have a large air conditioned van allowing them to carry more food plus reduce spoilage in the hot climate. Our church got in on the ground level of making the van a reality by pledging $10,000 if the Burnettes could raise the additional $25,000 needed by December 31, 2022 That happened when churches and individuals from South Carolina to Texas to Louisville and places in between provided the needed funds. The Burnettes used Indianapolis-based Missionary Auto & Truck Services to help find just the perfect vehicle All the back seats in the 15-passenger van were removed before delivery, as this vehicle will just haul produce to those in need. Rick will be with us in worship on March 19th and we look forward to hearing more about their good work

READINGGROUP
Crescent Hill Reading Group will be talking about The Last Painting of Sara de Vos, a beautifully written novel by Australian writer Dominic Smith. This captivating story takes us from 17th century Amsterdam to New York City to present day Sydney, Australia, as we follow an art historian/forger seeking to learn more about a talented Dutch painter Meanwhile she is dealing with her past mistakes involving an Art forgery. The novel explores art, forgery, love, and life lessons as three intertwining stories merge, revealing how deceits from the past can determine the present Join us at 7:00, March 30, in the parlor
