Year 5 Adopt a Chef
In our second 'Adopt a Chef' session, we learned about the practical skills of how to cut various food items. Thinking about textures, tastes and colours, we made a healthy salad. We took them home at the end of the day to enjoy with our families.

Year 4 PSHE
In PSHE this term, Year 4 have been exploring the theme of Friendship. The girls have been thinking deeply about what makes a good friend and how to build strong, positive relationships within our school and year group families. We’ve talked about how friendships come in many shapes and sizes - sometimes we feel very close to certain people and more loosely connected to others. And that’s okay! As we grow, we’ll make new friends, hold onto some, and move on from others. What’s important is understanding that having a variety of friendships is healthyafter all, we’re social beings!
A big focus has been on remembering the positive experiences we have in the playground rather than dwelling only on the negative ones. To help with this, the girls have started keeping a Friendship Diary each day after lunch. This gives them a chance to reflect on moments of kindness, teamwork, and fun. We’ve also looked at all the different ways we can make new friends, including
• Introducing ourselves;
• Asking the other person about themselves;
• Sharing something about ourselves;
• Asking the other person if they would like to play with us or do something with us;
• Showing kindness to the other person;
• Helping the other person.
Using positive body language - look at the person when you are talking to you to show that you are listening, smiling when you are being spoken to - to be encouraging.
We’re proud of the thoughtful discussions and efforts the girls are making to be great friends to one another!

Year 5,Western Music History
Our journey through Western Music History has taken us to the Renaissance period. The children have been enthusiastically exploring the rich tapestry of music from this era. They've been learning new vocabulary, listening to lively madrigals, and discovering the fascinating instruments used during the Renaissance. To round off the week, they even took part in some Renaissance dancing a fun and active way to bring history to life!

Going to Winchester was an unforgettable experience! A day filled with singing and laughter, I loved it! I hope we can do something like this again soon. Jasmine N
I really enjoyed going to Winchester – it was an amazing experience. While we were exploring the Cathedral I kept looking up and was dazzled by the imposing ceiling. It was a wonderful trip and to be able to sing in the Cathedral was fabulous. Sophia C

Reading
Psalm 117
This day was made by the Lord: we rejoice and are glad.
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good, for his love has no end.
Let the sons of Israel say: ‘His love has no end.’
Reflection
The moment of the resurrection changes everything. As the woman go to the tomb, travelling in faith and into the darkness-everything is changed everything is transformed. Christ is Risen Alleluia.The God who loves us and made us is always the God of the unexpected moments.This term let us set out like Mary and travel in faith, let us be open to seeing the resurrected Jesus in unexpected places and people.
The early church of course grew from these resurrection moments of encounter. Faith was past on from person to person. God reveals himself to humanity moment by moment.As we start a busy term let us not be afraid, not be daunted for He is alive.
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus through your ResurrectionYou paid the debt of sin and redeemed us into the Fathers arms.You cleared away the darkness of the night by the radiance of your rising light.You broke the bonds of death and rose from the grave.You reconciled Heaven and earth and gave us the hope of Eternal life.
Help us to live in the joy of Easter and to carry this joy to others.We pray at this time for the soul of Pope Francis and he makes his final journey into the hands of the father.
