As we reach the end of a busy and spirited week, I’m delighted to share some of the highlights from across the school
This week has seen the launch of our annual House Charity Week, with pupils enthusiastically engaging in fundraising activities for their chosen causes The energy and generosity on display have been truly heartening This included the House Rowing Competition in the gym throughout the week, with pupils from all houses rowing during break and lunch. The competition has been fierce and full of determination
On Tuesday, a group of Year 9 girls had the opportunity to attend the Young Talent into STEM Leadership Day at KBR. This inspiring trip offered insights into careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and encouraged our pupils to consider the exciting possibilities that lie ahead in these fields
Wednesday brought literature to life for our Year 10 GCSE English pupils, who gathered in Mairlot Hall for a performance of An Inspector Calls The production offered a fresh and engaging perspective on the text, helping pupils deepen their understanding ahead of their exams
The week continued with a burst of competitive spirit on Thursday morning, as pupils took part in the House Quiz. It was a lively and enjoyable event, showcasing teamwork, quick thinking, and plenty of house pride
As we look ahead, I’d like to take a moment to wish all pupils preparing for their GCSE exams the very best of luck. Drama exams have taken place this week, and English and Maths exams will follow after the half-term break Your hard work and commitment are recognised - keep going and know that we ’ re all behind you
Wishing everyone a restful and well-earned half-term

Yesterday we celebrated Diwali with a delicious lunch across the whole school.
Happy Half Term
The first half of the term seems to have flown by in a blur We can’t believe it’s already half term. Thank you to everyone for a great start to a new academic year of riding and Stable Management sessions. We hope you all have a restful half term.
Equine Fun Fact
Horses carry 58% of their weight on their front legs. This is why if a horse needs to wear horse shoes they will always wear front shoes and maybe hind shoes if needed.
Question (answer below)
What is the name of the tradesperson who fits horse shoes?

This Week
Bible Reading
A reading from the Gospel of Matthew Jesus taught his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body more than clothing? Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns And yet, your heavenly Father feeds them Are not you more important than they? Can any of you add a single moment to your life by worrying about things like that? "
Reflection
This week we focus on the Festival of the Harvest. Across the Trust we have sought to live out our value of Compassion by collecting donations for the Dorking and Cranleigh Foodbanks as well for the LeatherHEAD START Homeless Hostel. At this time of year let us seek to be thankful for all we have received and grateful for all we have been given. We are also encouraged to be open hearted to the needs of others and recognise more fully that it is giving we receive.
Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is error, the truth; where there is doubt, the faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. Amen.
