Summer Term

13th June 2025

Dear Parents, With three weeks to go to the end of term, life is certainly busy in every area of the Prep School. Throughout the week, our Year 6 swim team have been hard at work in extra training sessions ahead of tomorrow's National ESSA finals in Sheffield. Congratulations and best wishes to the team, their proud parents and Miss Fogwill, as they had north this weekend. We look forward to hearing how you've all got on. On Tuesday, Mr. Breeze (Head of Lower School, Y7 - Y9), who has been working with Year 6 this year in preparation for their transition to Year 7, held a Q&A session to help answer any further questions the girls may have as we draw towards their final weeks in Prep School. Congratulations to Mrs. Ridulfa and her team of Year 5 and 6 girls for winning the annual STEM-based challenge run by the charity SATRO, and hosted by St. Catherine’s School, Bramley. As official bus driver for the event, I had the chance to witness the girls’ success in person. Well done, everyone! I hope our Year 5 parents found last evenings Senior School Transition event both insightful and supportive, especially in relation to encouraging girls to strive for the hard-earned scholarships on offer. We are looking forward to next week as we will be participating in various events for our annual Values Week. The annual Aquathlon event, sees many of our Prep girls pitting themselves against 200 competitors from 12 other schools. We will celebrate the joy and hard work of our musicians at T-Fest. Year 6 take part in their final partnership event of the year at the Onnatti production at Cranmore, and, on Friday, they have the opportunity to see this year’s RE lessons come to life as they visit Wintershall to enjoy the incredible outdoor event that is The Life of Christ. I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our meeting with Mr. Farmer and Mr. Field on Monday at 4:30pm, to further discuss the plans around the transition to John Bosco over the summer and the next academic year. As in November, we will be hosting the meeting in the Sixth Form Lecture Theatre. Wishing you a wonderfully warm weekend, Gareth Tindall
