ACTING HEAD MR FIELD
We are delighted that Mr Field will become Acting Head of St Teresa's from September. Mr Field brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to both academic excellence and pastoral care. He studied at the University of Central Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons), majoring in Mathematics with minors in Computer Science, Physics and Statistics. After completing his studies in the United States, he returned to the UK to begin his outstanding 15-year career in education. Mr Field has held a variety of pastoral and academic roles, equipping him with a broad understanding of school life. For the past nine years, he has served as a senior leader, demonstrating a strong track record in school improvement and leadership. Mr Field joined St Teresa’s as Assistant Head (Director of Studies) in 2021 before taking on the role of Deputy Head (Academic) and more recently Senior Deputy, where he has contributed meaningfully to the strategic direction of the school. He teaches Maths and Further Maths to A level and Computer Science to GCSE and very much enjoys sharing his passion for these two subjects with his pupils.
BOARDING NEWS
‘Hakuna Matata’ became the boarders motto this past weekend after watching the ‘Lion King’ in London at the Lyceum Theatre. For a majority of the group, it was their first time seeing a show in the West End. The trip concluded with the boarders singing their hearts out to the ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘They Live in You’ on the bus ride back to St Teresa’s.
Swimming on Sunday turned out to be a great way to unwind and have fun after a week of exams and many hours of studying.
Playing games such as ‘Marko Polo’ and who can do a handstand for the longest time.
This weekend was a great reminder that you can always dance in the rain.
YEAR 8 GEOGRAPHY TRIP
On Wednesday 11 June 2025, our Year 8 pupils went to three areas within the locality of Dorking. The objectives were for the girls to review their previous learning as well as develop their primary data collection skills, essential for GCSE and A Level. They visited Box Hill to investigate the nature of tourism, its impact and how these are managed. They also went to Dorking town centre to investigate whether it is a clone town, and visited Bockett's Farm to learn more about its operation as a working sheep farm and its diversification into a farm park attraction. The girls enjoyed learning their Geography in the field, as well as the opportunity to enjoy the inspiring places and food offerings on our doorstep!
YEAR 9 RESIDENTIAL TRIP
Following their final exam, the Year 9 girls headed to Buddens Activity Centre in Dorset for an unforgettable residential trip filled with adventure, laughter, and teamwork.
Blessed with unexpected sunshine on arrival, the group threw themselves into activities like raft building, zip lining, and obstacle courses. Evening games brought everyone together, with pupils and staff enjoying spirited rounds of kickball, frisbee, and ball games. Despite a relentless seven-hour downpour on the second day, every girl showed remarkable resilience and enthusiasm, embracing paddle boarding, tomahawk throwing, and crate stacking without complaint. Although the bonfire was rained off, fun continued with games and laughter under soggy skies.
The final morning was quiet but joyful, wrapping up a trip that celebrated friendship, determination, and unforgettable memories. The staff were immensely proud of how every pupil embraced the experience – rain or shine.
CCF INSPECTION
Cadets from all three schools in the Trust, took part in the CCF Annual General Inspec on and had to parade under the watchful eyes of Sqn Ldr Davies, who was very complimentary about the cadets turn out. Reflec on
This Friday we celebrate the Feast Day of St Antony of Padua.
Saint Antony was first of all an Augus nian monk, but he was so impressed by the martyrdom of five Franciscans who had been spreading the faith in Morocco that he became a Franciscan friar himself, so that he could preach the gospel in Africa too. Illness obliged him to leave Morocco, and a storm then drove his ship to Sicily, so that he found himself taking part in the General Chapter of the Franciscans in 1221, where he met Saint Francis of Assisi himself. His preaching career then took him to northern Italy and southern France, then a stronghold of the Albigensian heresy. Later he returned to Italy, to Padua, where he was an outstanding preacher and the first Franciscan theologian. His sermons are full of gentleness, but he reproved the wicked with fearless severity – especially backsliding clergy and the oppressors of the weak. His shrine is a centre of pilgrimage, and he is also the patron saint of the lost and found.
Prayer
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and we shall be created, and you shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.
