The atmosphere in school this week has been one of quiet determina on as pupils have been engaged in GCSEs or end of year assessments. From focused revision sessions to silent exam venues, there has been a clear sense of purpose throughout school. Pupils have shown maturity, approaching their assessments with diligence and calm. Staff have offered support, maintained a smooth running of the schedule, and fostered a reassuring environment. There has been a li le me for some pupils to have fun in the sun with cricket fixtures against Broomwood and tennis matches against Shrewsbury House.
As we start the half-term holiday, I congratulate everyone on their hard work. To our Year 11 pupils, I commend you for your effort over the last few weeks si ng GCSE exams and wish you con nued focus and success as the GCSE exam period con nues a er half-term.
Cranmore Live: The
This year's Cranmore Live featured the superb and magical voices of the award-winning vocal ensemble, The Gesualdo Six
Forty-two choristers from Cranmore and St Teresa's a ended a ernoon workshops led by Owain Park and then sang alongside The Gesualdo Six in the evening concert. To say that the sounds coming from the Auditorium that evening were angelic would be an understatement and I am sure that this will be an event that will linger in many a mind for years to come.
My thanks to The Gesualdo Six for their brilliance, professionalism and kindness shown to the pupils.

Rotary Wri ng Compe on: ‘Wonderful Water’
Following Cranmore's tremendous success in last year's compe on, thirty-seven highly imagina ve and expressive entries were submi ed this year from boys in Years 4 to 8. The tle 'Wonderful Water' was imagina vely approached with stories and poems involving sea-based dramas, desert oases and environmental reflec ons. I am delighted to report that seven entrants received "Highly Commended" cer ficates for their entries: Jamie T and Colin C in Year 8; Max C, Seb K and Will C in Year 6; Xander W in Year 5; and Perry R in Year 4.
Compe on was fierce this year, but the judges' comments on each of these boys' work expressed genuine admira on in their approach to the compe on and their wri ng styles: 'gripping', 'full of vitality', 'a deligh ul read', 'a full book in the making', 'we were truly transported'.
We are very proud of the students' successes, and congratulate all entrants on their efforts.

Rotary Young Ar st and Young Photographer: ‘Wonderful Water’
Thirteen entries were submi ed this year from Cranmore for this highly compe ve crea ve invita on across two age categories. The judges were thrilled to receive so many imagina ve and skilfully executed composi ons including ships captured in rocky waters, environmental concerns and water as an important habitat.
I am delighted to report that Edward T, Chip N and Ben S all received a ‘Highly Commended’ or ‘Runner-up’ for their stunning work, with comments from the judges such as 'atmospheric' and 'great at drawing!' I am even more excited to report that Barnaby H won first prize for his excellent s ll frame shot of water captured splashing from the glass. Both Barnaby and Chip's artwork will go on to the District for the next round of judging.
We are immensely proud of the students for their successes and congratulate all the entrants for their submissions.

A Message from our Chaplaincy Team
This Week
A Reading from the Gospel of John
Jesus said:
‘My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life; they will never be lost and no one will ever steal them from me. The Father who gave them to me is greater than anyone, and no one can steal from the Father. The Father and I are one.’
Reflec on
Pope Leo XIV’s mo o: In Illo uno unum” (“In the one Christ we are one”), recalls the words of Saint Augus ne in a sermon, the Exposi on on Psalm 128, explaining that “in the one Christ we are one”. The image of the pierced heart on his Coat of Arms speaks of the heart that is pierced with God’s love. Pope Leo XIV has con nued to call for the Church to be united to Christ and to one another. In this way we will be a sign for the world.
Prayer
Faithful God,
You guide us on the path of life and your goodness is our constant companion.
Be with our new Shepherd, Pope Leo XIV, in his service of the Church. Fill him with the power of your Spirit, the peace of your presence and the compassion of Christ.
Amen
