20 NOVEMBER 3 JULY 2023 2023 Message from the Head of Prep We are halfway through this half term and, although the mercury is dropping and the nights are drawing in, the days are still busy with a huge amount happening both in and out of school. Mrs Watkinson has launched the new Upper Prep Reading Challenge so those looking for some inspiration for their Christmas holiday reading have some excellent suggestions to tackle. It is great to see the Eco Council raising awareness around healthy eating. On Monday we had a record number of visitors from local schools to Cranmore to take our 11+ and 13+ assessments. Those looking to join our school in September were interviewed before sitting their exams in the hall and having lunch. Later in the week some of the pupils returned to join our current Year 6 pupils for scholarship assessments in Art, Drama, Music and Sport. Well done to all of those involved with Wednesday’s swimming gala against ACS Cobham and congratulations on the win. Thursday saw our Year 2 girls enjoy some time at Manor House. We were treated to a beautiful Lower Prep Music Assembly in the Auditorium yesterday and all of Prep were very excited this morning to hear more about the Cranmore Ski Club and the achievements of its members. Our Cross Country squad went out today to represent us at the St Edmund’s race which included our U8 team getting a chance to represent our school and emulate the success of our Senior teams. We wish our U11 football team well this weekend as they compete in the IAPS Finals – a fantastic achievement just to reach this stage. Good luck! Finally, with winter around the corner, please remember those Cranmore coats and hats.
