In a year when we have celebrated the importance of community, let me extend my thanks to all those involved in the CPA for their efforts in bringing us all closer together. Crancamp over the weekend was another great success and an opportunity for friends to gather and enjoy one another’s company.
The week began with the Poetry Declamation competition final. Mr Chapman bravely took on the job of judge and complimented all of the finalists on the confidence with which they delivered their lines. The Maths Treasure Hunts reached a conclusion and the various winners were delighted to collect their prizes in assembly. They were joined by the winners of the Design and Technology competition which this year was based on the theme of Formula One racing.
Moving Up Day gave the children a taste of what is to come in the forthcoming academic year, and it was fantastic to welcome parents from the incoming Reception and Year 4 classes to talk through the many opportunities that are available from September.
Founder’s Day Mass was celebrated on Thursday morning and my thanks go to everyone involved with bringing all parts of the school together for this special service. We were joined by parents, governors and members of our parish to mark the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
This week, much of our assembly time has been dedicated to celebrating the achievements of the children. They have risen to meet the challenges that have been presented to them and have grown in resilience this year. They can reflect on their successes with pride and look forward to the new academic year with excitement.
I wish everyone in our Cranmore community a very enjoyable summer.

Year 6 Speed to Success!
Year 6 pupils have been putting the pedal to the metal in their Design and Technology lessons this term, taking part in an exciting F1 branding project. Drawing on skills developed throughout the year, they designed and manufactured their very own scale Formula 1 cars - showcasing creativity, precision, and ambition.
As the end of term approached, the excitement reached top gear with our Sports Hall transformed into a mini Silverstone for the ultimate 25-metre race challenge. Pupils competed head-to-head (and against the clock!) in a thrilling test of speed, design, and performance, all in pursuit of the coveted title of Fastest Car
The event was a roaring success, bringing an unforgettable finish to an incredible year. Year 6, you have truly been in pole position all the way! I would like to extend my thanks to Ms Schembri and Mr Overton, without whom this event would not have been possible.

Year 6 - Joint Winners - Rafferty C-D (cello) and Max C (piano)
We also enjoyed listening to the Upper Prep Chamber Choir, led by Ms Evans, singing the classic song, 'Singin' in the Rain'.

Upper Prep Maths Treasure Hunt
During the Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 Maths Treasure Hunt at Cranmore School, students teamed up in groups of three for an exciting outdoor adventure. Using a specially marked map, each team followed coordinates to locate hidden questions scattered across the school grounds. The activity challenged their teamwork, navigation, and problem-solving skills as they worked together to answer each question. Once a team correctly solved a question, they received the coordinates for the next clue, driving them forward in thehunt. The event was both engaging and educational, fostering collaboration and a sense of discovery among the students.

Reading Challenge Celebration
Pupils from Years 4 to 7who took part in this year’s Reading Challenge were invited to the Hospitality Suite on Thursday for a special celebration. They were awarded a certificate and a prize to reflect our appreciation of their efforts in completing the challenge. After enjoying some delicious pastries and juice, those pupils who had read all five books voted for their favourite. After careful deliberation, the winning book was chosen:The Secret of Golden Island by Natasha Farrant. In second place was I am Rebel by Ross Montgomery. Only one vote separated the two, and all five books were declared very enjoyable by all the participants. Congratulations to all those who took part. We are already looking forward to next year’s Reading Challenge!

Moving Up Afternoon
Tuesday afternoon was a great success with Moving Up Day happening across the school.
The children had the chance to meet their new classes and to see where they would be having lessons next year. They took part in some ice-breaker and team-building activities to help smooth the transition into the next year group.
Our new joiners were made to feel very welcome and commented on how excited they were to be joining our school community.
Year 1 Trip to the Rural Life Centre
Year 1 went on a fantastic trip to the Rural Life Centre. We stepped back in time into a Victorian classroom, dressed like Victorian children, and loved the traditional laundry experience.
It was a fabulous way to finish off our topic of the Victorians.

Year 6 pupil Arlo W attended the Inter-Counties Nationals on Wednesday which was held at the The Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton. Arlo, who was representing West Surrey, competed in the Long Jump and performed exceptionally well. Arlo's impressive jump of 4m 73cm gave him second place which means he is second in the country for his age. Congratulations, Arlo!

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi he put this question to his disciples, ‘Who do people say the Son of Man is?’ And they said, ‘Some say he is John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ ‘But you,’ he said, ‘who do you say I am?’ Then Simon Peter spoke up, ‘You are the Christ,’ he said ‘the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied, ‘Simon son of Jonah, you are a happy man! Because it was not flesh and blood that revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. So I now say to you: You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church. And the gates of the underworld can never hold out against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven.’
Reflection
On Sunday we as a church celebrated the great feast day of St Peter and St Paul. These two pillars of the church were both so different. Both different but both called to share in the Kingdom of God and both witnesses to the love of God. St Peter of course makes that dramatic confirmation of faith at Caesarea Philippi. Jesus asks the disciples, ‘Who do you say I am.’ That is a question each of us is asked, each of us is posed throughout our lives. Let us have the faith of St Peter, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’
Prayer
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us, and after this exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Amen
"Remember that nothing is small in the eyes of God. Do all that you do with love."
