4 DECEMBER 2023 3 JULY 2023 Message from the Head of Prep
Another busy week has seen us play some entertaining rugby and earn some hard-fought victories over a number of age groups and our swimmers turned in some great times in the gala against Boxgrove. The 'Around the World' Drama workshop was enormous fun for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, and it was clear that Upper Prep are getting excited about the final countdown for the termly merit totals and House Cups.
We have enjoyed a magical start to Advent with our Junior Chamber Choir singing so beautifully at All Saint's Church, Ockham, on Sunday, followed by two incredible Nativity performances. It was the turn of Nursery, Reception and Year 1 on Tuesday to present to us ‘Away in a Manger’ and then on Wednesday we saw Years 2 and 3 perform ‘The Angel Who Nearly Missed It All’. A huge thank you to everyone involved: the parents who have listened to their children rehearsing at home; the staff who have taken time to organise the Nativities; the catering team for treating everyone to hot drinks and mince pies; the facilities and IT teams for helping with the staging and lighting; and of course, the children themselves who did not let a large audience phase them and delivered their lines so articulately and confidently. The children really brought a sense of festive cheer to the week and we still have our Carol Services and Christmas Jumper Day to look forward to next week!
