National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with:
• English (First language) (4) (50%)
• Mathematics (4) (50%) or Technical Mathematics (5) (60%)
• Physical Science (4) (50%) or Electrical Technology (4) (50%) or Technical Science (5) (60%)
(Any one of E/M/PS can be 45%–49% but not more than one)
National Certificate (NC)
• Mathematics (N4) (60%)
• English (First language) (4) (50%)
• ES (Engineering Science) (N4) (60%)
• ET (Electro-technics) (N4) (60%)
• DE (Digital Electronics) (N4) (60%)
(Any one of ES/M/ET/DE can be 55%–59% but not more than one)
National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at Level 4
• English (5) (60%)
• Mathematics (5) (60%)
• At least 3 of the following: ES (3) with 60%, Electrical Principles and Practice (3) with 60%, Electronic Control and Digital Electronics (3) with 60%, Electrical Workmanship (3) with 60%
The department utilises an Admission Point Score (APS) as selection criteria once your minimum admission requirements are satisfied. You also have to score a minimum of 27 on the APS for the ECP.
