The Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) is for prospective South African Marine Science students who meet the minimum admission requirements, but may fall short on the admission point score (APS) for the mainstream programme.

WHAT YOU NEED
Minimum Admission Requirements
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with:
• English (4)
• Mathematics (4); or Technical Maths (5)
• Physical Sciences (4)
Prospective students may be admitted to the ECP with a score of at least 45% (3.5) for Physical Science or Mathematics, provided they score at least 50% (4) in one of these.
The department utilises an Admission Point Score (APS) as selection criteria once your minimum admission requirements are satisfied. You also have to score a minimum of 28 with Mathematics; or 29 with Technical Maths.
