Well, that went by fast. I can still remember receiving our candles at last year’s banquet, and now we’re already preparing our last words? It’s been one hell of a year.

Steez-E-Board, you people drove me crazy. If anyone caused me to use my line from last year’s PACN, it was you guys. I can’t even begin to talk abou- just kidding. This year has certainly had its ups and downs, but I really can’t imagine going through it without all of you. Rizza, despite whatever you think, I really am thankful to have you in my life and on this board. We will always have ’10-’11 Best Dressed *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* *Clap* -- *Clap* *Clap*. Emeline, *facebook noise on computer heard through webcam*. Even though you’ve never used your taser on me (and you’ve probably had reason to throughout this year), it haunts my dreams. Aina, regardless of, well, you know, thank you for being the one to bring energy to Board. Needless to say, there have been times where none of us have that energy, but you manage to keep going. NJ, remember when we were at RA before E-Board auction, and Edrada told you to “Man up, Clown!”? Well, you certainly did. I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job this year than you. Carl, I feel like whenever you’re wearing a tank and I turn around, you’ll be there flashing your nipple. Thanks for creating a great way to remember you. Of course, there’s always “doob, doob doob doob”. Oh, remember that time after the Sportsfest Recap meeting, and you rode my scooter, and then you landed on you’re a- nevermind. Bryan, “Snakeee Eaterrrrr” Even after all this time, I still clearly remember when you first took a break. If Dane manages to win Best Dressed this year, let’s team up to win Co-Best Dressed next year so he doesn’t (Just kidding, Dane). Luigi, you’ve come a long way from deepthr- I mean swallowing those markers for the BGT video. For some unexplainable reason, I blame you for my habit of saying “Cute cute, naman”. Danielle, I’ve accepted the fact that you will always spell my name as “Dillion”. It will always annoy me, but you will be the exception. Sounds like a load of hoopla! But thank you for being there for me whenever I needed to talk, or rant. Teehee. Andrew, you’re probably the one who made me say “Damn it!” the most throughout this year if not Rizza. Dear Barkada, I’m pretty sure that I put writing this letter off until the last possible minute. Two days before banquet at 2:06 AM? Yeah pretty sure.

Steez-E-Board: Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for all the laughs, the tears, and the sweat into making each event come to life.

You have all made an impact in my life today and for that I couldn’t have asked for a better board.

The truth is that it still hasn’t hit me that this year is over. Maybe it’s because that regardless of all the ups and downs this year, my passion for this organization has not changed one bit.

It has truly been an honor to be your External Affairs this year.

Maybe that’s why I’ve never actually retaliated against your trolling. Shea, you’ve always put us and Barkada before yourself. You’re one of the most selfless people I know, so thank you for always being there.

Barkada, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your Historian. As I mentioned in the PACN program, everything, I’ve done was for you all. I still remember creating the first video of the year, “Barkada Jackass”. It was awkward, stupid, and lame, but you stuck around anyways. To be honest, I got a little nervous before showing each and every video because I really did just want to make you all laugh. Whether it was being a general member last year or an E-board member this year, you’re all the reason I continue to grow as a person. This year has been life changing, and I thank each one of you for being a part of it.

Steez-E-Board. If there was anyone I had to pour my heart and soul out to, I’m glad it was you guys.

Dillon. There’s a reason you’re my 40 deal. I watched the HIMYM season finale and- Rizza. New York. 2 years. Us. You’re one of my favorites even if you’re high mai- NJ. You are the reason I am on board. I’m proud of you and how far we’ve come. But I still resent that-Aina. You are the reason I’m in Barkada. I’m glad we were on board together. It’s been us since the beginning. If you’re moving to LA after graduation- Carl. When I tell fun facts, you shout that no one cares. BUT PEOPLE DO. If this year tells me anything, it’s that you’re going to make a great pre- Bryan. You’re the Ralph to my Brianna, and you always will be. I’ve already told you all of my secrets. It’s not like I can let you tell everyone how I- Luigi. I’ve been waiting all year to say this…STUFFS IS NOT A WORD. IT’S STUFF. STUFF. IF YOU LISTENED AT MY GRAMMAR LESSONS- Danielle. Thanks for always being there for me when I was having a crisis and for being hilarious with me. You’re the coolest, I mean other than mys- Jherray. STOP DENYING IT. YOU’RE A HUFFLEPUFF WITH ME. You’re one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. But I would have liked to see more details regarding chicken nug-Yeo. I needed a troll in my life. Thank you for supporting my Pilgrim theme idea. I think next year, we- Kevin. You’ve been there since I was freshman, and all I’ve ever wanted to do was make you proud. You’re the reason I’m running again. Also, DECK DECK- Shea. Whether it was about board or family or guys, you became a very important person in my life. We’ve had great conversations in all circumstances. Like that one time I was soEveryone. I’m so happy. And it’s heartbreaking to say goodbye to this year.

It’s been one of the best years of my life. I’ve learned so much, and I’ve had the pleasure to watch every single one of you grow. It has been an honor serving as your 2011-2012 PR Representative. Hopefully, I did what I said what was in my job description in the very first meeting: say hi and be your friend. If I failed to be your friend then I have no one else to blame but you. Just kidding. I hope you enjoyed your year. You deserve the best. Remember that.

Bryan: I’m glad I got to know you bit more this year.

I’m really glad you stepped up for P.Notes & PACN & brought out the fierceness in members modern, haha Carl: Thanks for being great help with everything plus your laughter & jokes are contagious! I’m still glad we can talk about dance & thank you for stepping up to P.Notes & Project Obvious Andrew: I enjoyed all our “at the of the party drunk trying to sober up” talks.Thanks for all the car rides, the favors, & always being there to help. Even though you’re a troll, I still think you’re super sweet! Jherray: I appreciate all the inspirational words you’ve said throughout the year. Aina: Thank you for being a part of P.Notes & all the other events that I made you sing at! Emeline: I’m really happy you ended up running for PR last year after we had our talk. Your work still amazes & inspires me to do better. I love your honesty & your sincere heart. If I had a balloon, I’d name it Emeline =] Rizza: Thank you for all the help you’ve given me. I know you were busy with work,

but I appreciate the fact you were always willing to do everything whenever you could. Thank you for helping me get out there to external schools & helping me make all these new friends. Dillon: You are probably one of the most humbling & modest person I’ve ever met. I really admire all your work & your intelligence.

I enjoyed working on the program with you & thank you for being an inspiration to me when it came to art... yes I do consider your photography & video an art. Thank you for the advice & talks you have given to me this year.

The BEC P.Notes: I’m sorry I couldn’t do more for you guys this year. =[ But I am super happy that the talent grew so much & people really surprised me. Thank you for all the patience & hard work.

CDT: Thank you for all the performance you’ve done with me! All the gigs & hard work really did pay off. CDT really helped my love for cultural dances grow! Project Obvious: This started off as small idea because I wanted to keep dancing & dance with people that shared the same passion for it. I’m so glad this small idea turned into something real. Barkada Band: B.Band was one of the first things I joined as a freshman. Thank you for continuing this & keeping it alive. Barkada Modern: Great job this year. You guys really brought yourselves up in the community!

I’m glad we’re still friends & I hope we continue staying friends. We’re considered Old T_T Edward Terrence L. Santos: You already know how I feel about you... we annoy the crap outta each other but yet we love each other. I’m sorry for all the tears & complaints & demands. You are amazing the way you are... expect when you’re always late for things =[... Always there for me through thick& thin... i DONT KNOW what I’d do without you. I’ve been putting off writing this for so long (sorry Emeline!) because I know how much it’s going to hurt having to do so. This year has been one of the best years ofmy life, and I am truly sad to see it go. This year reignited the love andpassion I have for Barkada, and I have all of you to thank for that.

To Mabut-E-Board, I wouldn’t be here right now without you all. Thank you forintroducing me to this amazing organization and for inspiring me to follow inyour footsteps. The 13 of you made my freshman year in college one I will neverforget.

To my kuya, we are perfect. I couldn’t picture for myself a better rolemodel/mentor. Thank you for always pushing me, supporting me, and being therefor me. Even though sometimes you EMBARRASS and ABUSE me, I know that you LOVEme. :D 1..2..3… BULBASAUR! To our Steezy freshmen/transfers/1st year Barkada members, you guys are amazing! I’m so thankful to have you all as our group of new members. I adore each and every one of you and love being with you. I hope to see you continue to grow and love Barkada because you all have so much potential. I believe in you guys, and I will always be here for you.

To the Mabuties Freshmen, I love you. Things change, people grow apart, but I will never forget us. I will never forget all of the times we shared and the memories we made. We will always have a special bond. BEST Barkada freshman class of all time?! I think so!

To Steez-E-Board, words can’t express. We faced challenges before we evenstarted, we were met with doubts and questions, but I personally believe that we had a great fucking year. I’m proud of all of us and of what we accomplished. I’m throwing all of the drama out the window right now, notbecause of graduation goggles, but because I have grown to appreciate each and every one of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I am a different person than I was this day last year, and you are all responsible for that. Thank you for supporting me, thank you for tolerating me, thank you for humbling me,THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I hope we will always be 13 strong. <3 Lastly, thank you to Bryan/GRANDE, Emeline, Jherray, Nikki/TWINNY, Ada, BrothaMark, Claudia/Sandra Dia, P. Notes, and AnneFAM. Thank you Barkada for electing me onto the 2011-2012 Executive Board. It has been an honor serving you as your ASI/MCC Representative. Although I still feel like I have another year left in the tank, it can’t happen.

My heart and soul want toserve another year on E-Board so badly, but my head is telling me that I need to concentrate on my future career and my imminent graduation more. But you haven’t seen the last of me!

Good luck to the 2012-2013 Executive Board: I love you already, please use me next year!

It seems like just yesterday I was at End of the Year Banquet and Anthony Maatubang was passing the Secretary torch off to me. I remember going into this year completely blind. I had no idea what I was getting into and no amount of talks or words of wisdom from past E-Board members could have prepared me for what we faced this year, but even having said that, I still wouldn’t trade this year for the world.

First and foremost, to Nast-E-Board, I wouldn’t be here without you guys. Without you, I’d still be one of those people who just went to class and went right back home. I would never have experienced what it’s really like to be in college and for that, I am forever grateful. Thank you so much for breaking me out of my shell, forcing me to come out, and helping me grow as a person!

To Ermie Cachola. You’re always there to deliver that perfectly-timed one-liner that is so deeply inspirational and amazingly appropriate for the situation. You’ve been one of my biggest inspirations here in Barkada and a person that I know I could always go to for advice. Thank you so much for being there for me when I need you the most. My appreciation and reverence of you goes far beyond the words that I can write on this page.

To our Steezy Freshmen! I remember at the beginning of the year, at Summer Luau, how scared I was when NONE of you showed up and I thought we wouldn’t even have a freshmen class…. -____- I’m really glad how it turned out because you guys are so amazing! You all have such a love and passion for Barkada already and seeing that never fails to make me smile. I’m so glad that I got to be a part of your guys’ year!

And last, but definitely not least, to Steez-E-Board… Firstly, to Shea and Kevin, you guys were always there to offer encouragement and words of wisdom. Without your guidance, I have no idea how I would’ve gotten through this year. Danielle, mom! (lolol), thank you for always being that person that I could go to talk to. Luigi, thank you for being that cultural presence we needed. To Bryan and Andrew. Sportsfest. What a battle… I wouldn’t even hesitate a second to go through it again with you guys. Carl, thank you for never failing to brighten the mood. It’s an honor to be able to call you a friend. To Aina, my biggest supporter. If there was any person in this world that could lift me up and make me feel confident in my abilities, it’s you. Thank you so much. To NJ, thank you for being there for me. To Emeline, my co-family head for Modern Fam, thank you so much for helping me organize our family and for taking the best minutes when I was absent haha. To my ate, Rizza, I became even closer to you this year. Thank you so much for being that person I know I could have an amazing conversation with. To Dillon, thank you for always being calm and collected. We really needed it. It was an honor to serve with each and every one of you and I honestly wish we could just keep going!

And to the rest of Barkada, thank you so much for making all of this possible. Without all of you, there’d be no point in even be here. Without all of you, I wouldn’t even have run for board. Without all of you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. You are all the reason that when I look back on this year and it makes me wish even harder that it wasn’t ending. Just one final thank you to everyone for the memories and the year itself. It was my pleasure serving as your Secretary. See you next year!

Barkada, this past year has definitely been one to remember.

Steez-E-Board, thank you for everything. It feels like it was just yesterday that we were the ones staring into our own candles. Through all the meetings, the late nights, the early mornings, 12-hour days, and the empty gas tanks, you guys have been a huge part of my life this year. At the expense of sounding like I’m experiencing graduation goggles, I will honestly miss all the good times along with the bad because in the end it was all worth every moment of stress. I want you all to know that I’ll always be grateful for all the times we’ve spent together and all the life experiences we’ve shared from working with one another.

Kelsey, I’m glad I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know you as my ading this past year! I also regret not being able to hang out more often, but I want you to remember that I won’t stop being your Kuya just because the year is over.

In my honest opinion, this year has had so many ups and downs that it’s not even cliché to call it a roller coaster. The memories we’ve made and the laughter we reflect on gives me a sense of pride in our ability to come together as Barkada, as a family. It has been an honor to serve with this board and for all of you. See you all next year!

I really cant believe it has been a year and my term of being on E-Board is coming to an end, time sure flies. I mean I can still vividly remember last years End of the Year Banquet, being inducted to E-Board, going through summer retreat, and even the very first Barkada meeting at the stables. Soon it will be time for me to hand down the title of Sports Chair and lighting a new candle for next years Sports Chair. My time of not just being the Sports Chair, but being part of this board, Steez-E-Board, is something I cant describe in just one paragraph. I have so many feelings right now it’s just so hard to express myself. I love them. Each and every 12 of them. I will miss them so much. I will miss the times we shared throughout the year. I will miss the memories we created.

Being part of this board, this family, it changed my life for the better. Sure we had our ups and downs but it truly brought us all together, and made us even closer. All the stupid trolling and inside jokes we have, I will cherish forever. I am so blessed to have met these people and serve on board with them, I just cant believe it is all coming to an end. I am honored to be called YOUR Sports Chair for the 2011-2012 school year and I hope I made you guys proud. It was definitely a bumpy and fun ride being Sports Chair. Sportsfest was my baby and I did my best with Barkada’s help to make it the best I could. We sure pulled together didnt we :). So I just wanted to say Thank You. Thank you for letting me be your Sports Chair. Thank you for all your help. Thank you Andrew Yeo for being the best Treasurer I could ever ask for. You really had my back the entire time of Sportsfest and saying Thank you is nowhere near enough. I am just glad to have worked with you, you really did make my job so much easier. Thank you E-Board for believing me and supporting me. Thank you Barkada. I will truly miss my time as Sports Chair. Shout out to my besties Emeline and Aina: Thank you for continually supporting me time and time again. Being there so that I could have someone to talk to. Coming to me whenever you guys had problems, and I say that because honestly I just love just listening and helping where I can. Looking back at all the convos we had, it just made me really think of how close we are. I could always count on you for advice or just being there. LAV you guys! So i guess this is my letter resignation and I am pretty much done.

How I will miss this year. Steeze will never have the same meaning anymore. I wish next year’s board all the luck and as always I will be there to help whenever I can! LAV.

Thischapter of Barkada is coming to a close and man were there some great memoriesa few of mine deserving a couple more remarks. Thank you to the building committee,my hype leaders, and the barkada in black for making FriendshipGames one hellof a day. Although it was hot and many of us were tired, we still pulledthrough the whole day! Don’t worry the UFO is gone to a safe place, thedumpster. Thanks to those who did attend Friendship Games though, especially ifit was your first time! Hopefully many more SPUFING will come out of you inyears to come! Then December came a long and so did a special weekend. Thanks forall that went. Yay. Seriously though through outthis whole year Barkada it was great seeing everyone grow closer together.Whether it was through monthly socials, kuya/ ate/ading events, FG, SPORTSFEST,PACN, we came together. We became more than just a club on Cal Poly Pomona’scampus, but a nice family. It was this family who brought me new life livinghere in Pomona for school and I hope that you feel welcomed now to this family. Maramingsalamat! See you next year!!

Barkada! For the nth time. I want to say thank you! Maraming-maraming salamat! Thank you for letting me share my culture to you and letting me embrace your culture.

Starting from Pilipino American Heritage Month, all the workshops and activities we made, till the very end of Pilipino American Culture Night: Hawak Kamay, thank you for being there! Having a school year being with you is really a life changing event! We are the MIB (Members in Barkada) who RISE on each events while we HAWAK KAMAY for each other! I experienced a lot of first times with you, working with you, getting to know more of you and celebrating special events of my life with you!

Thank you so much! YES na YES! I will never forget those happy moments I had with you since it’s so cooool. Barkada’s I met this year, thank you that I met you! Barkadas I get to know more, thank you for letting me enter your lives! I enjoyed all the stories we shared! I hope we will still be friends! Barkada’s I knew before, thank you for getting to know you more this year and thank you for not leaving me behind. Salamat! M.M.O.D.D.E.L., I miss our group chats! Let’s do it again this summer. I enjoy those 5 minute to an hour bonding time! I will always be there for you! To my other adopted ading Francis, you are a cool substitute when my ading is not there, JUST KIDDING, but so happy that I met you and Danielle Buen especially that I met you during PAHM opening ceremony! My People, tagalog speakers, I enjoyed talking tagalog with you! BTW everyone is welcome to be part of it! Culture Chairs, Vinz, Ermie, Katie & Kevin, thank you for helping me throughout the year! Thanks for the advices! PACN Coordinators, from the sound to acting coordinators. Thank you so much! Thank you for your inputs and help. Thank you so much! HAWAK KAMAY! PACN CASTS especially Mars, Aaron, Kelsey and Nikki, PACN will never happen without every one of you! Thank you for being part of it. Throughout the PACN season, we experience different kind of hardships, but we did it! YES! HAWAK KAMAY! I’m super proud of all of you, we made the night our night! And it’s a SUCCESS! Barkada, you have my been my heart and soul this year and there’s nothing more I can express to you but my thanks, gratitude and my respect. To SteezE-Board: Shea & Kevin, we’ve been together from beginning ‘til the end. Thank you for ALWAYS loving me and being my bests no matter how much we went through throughout the year. Nj, for always being there for me no matter what.

I know you ALWAYS have my back. Andrew, thank you for always being the one I can count on for anything. I will always remember the summer where we bonded & my 21st (lololol). Emeline, thank you for being so beautiful (teehehe).

You’ve really grown to be someone I can trust with judgement of anything and that means a lot. Carl, thank you for being someone I can talk to about anything & opening up to me. Oh hey Barkada! Thank you for everything you’ve done this year. You guys continue to inspire me every day and show that Barkada is not just a group of friends but a family and that Barkada isn’t just a club, but a way of life. I’m not going to go into specifics, because I know I’ll forget someone, but just know this. Everyone I’ve met in Barkada since Boogi-E-Board year to now has had an impact in my life. I know I’ve thanked you guys before,but I just want to again. I can’t say it enough.

Words can’t fully express how I feel but I’ll try my best -Barkada: People always think that eboard makes all of the events possible and you the members just show up, but it’s actually the other way around. Without all of the members who make the basis of this family eboard would have no purpose because everything we do is for you guys. So on behalf of eboard THANK YOU BARKADA for all the memories, thank you for giving us a reason to work our asses off, and thank you for keeping the traditions of this family alive.

Thank you for making this last year for me memorable to say the least. I couldn’t have asked for better roommates who were always down to chill and who helped me get through my year as president -Kuya Vinz, Pops Andrew, Katie, and Christops: Thank you for being there this year. Idk where we would be if it weren’t for you guys, all of you are living testaments that the love and passion for Barkada never goes away.

-Esteffi: Thank you for always believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.

You were always there to knock some sense into me, both metaphorically and literally. I really am blessed to have you in my life.

-My E-Board: Kevin and Danielle you guys have been my best friends ever since we started in Barkada together, I always knew we would be on e-board together one day. Thank you for being there for me not only as an e-board member but also as a friend. Carl, Dillon, and Jherray since the beginning of this year I’ve always had this faith in you guys about the potential you possessed……man was I wrong lol jk. Good luck you guys, just remember I’ll be around if you need me. NJ, Emeline, Aina, and Luigi to be honest when this year started I didn’t know you guys very well. But as we went through the year I got to know each of you and I’m glad I did. NJ I remember you once told me that we’re acquaintances and you hoped we could be friends. Well I hope you consider us friends now because I think of you as my friend and my bec. Emeline I’m glad I’ve found someone who’s almost as white as I am, we will go to a say anything concert someday and I will pay for your ticket. Aina I now know that when I need to talk to someone about basketball and how stupid David Stern is I can turn to you. Luigi thanks for always pointing

out how white I am and for trying to teach me tagalog lol. Bryan I know things didn’t pan out like you wanted this year but I’m proud of you for gutting through it and persevering, I’ll see you on xbox live. Andrew I feel like that you’re the one person on board I’ve learned about the most.

You’ve been through a lot this past year and you took it in stride and all I have to say is that I’m honored to say you’re a fellow treasurer and also you’re a troll. Rizza I’m glad we could still be friends after our ugly breakup, I forgive you babe lololol. I still hope we can go on external adventures together even though we’re not on board……..crazy drunk girl. I feel like you guys really are my kids, for the past year I’ve watched you guys grow. Like any parent I’ve seen you guys go through tough times only to pick yourselves up and keep going, there were those times where you annoyed the crap out of me, and now I see how much all of you have learned and grew into the future leaders or Barkada.
