Supporting Children & Young People with Autism & Anxiety.

Help is at hand for Worcestershire children and young people who are struggling in school, or those who find it difficult to attend. Confidence Caffe offers targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs – particularly those with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated anxiety It helps them overcome their difficulties and gain the skills they need to start building a future that’s right and bright for them.

Confidence Caffe is run by Patsy Holbrook, a Special Educational Needs tutor and mother of three who has tackled her own demons and become expert in helping others to do the same. Patsy is sometimes known as ‘the Child Whisperer’ because she is so quickly able to connect with her young clients and get them to open up about the difficulties they experience, enabling solutions to be found.

Through Confidence Caffe Patsy offers a wide range of resources, including some she has developed herself, to help them master skills to keep calm in worrying situations, control anger, build friendships and solve problems.

Working singly or with small groups, her overarching aim is to empower the clients – including young adults - so that they develop and thrive in the world around them. She has wide experience of working with schools, alternative education providers and

education authorities, of being an advocate for her clients and also of being a bridge between the professionals and the client families.

“I have been specialising in this for 16 years now and I am passionate about it,” says Patsy. “I love working with these children and young people.

“They are all different and my work with each of them is very personalised.

I don’t work out of books or follow a programme. I am an intuitive worker and what I do is very person centred.

I relate to the children and they relate to me.” ........................................................................
