HOME & GARDEN
It’s a simple, universal truth that homes and gardens always need improving, no matter how much you’ve already done to them or how much you’ve already spent! Whether it’s a case of urgent repairs, ongoing maintenance, a desire for change or, perhaps, appreciation for new trends or great innovations, there will always be something else calling you to do it yourself, or get someone else to do it.
Luckily, we have an impressive range of advertisers who are ready and able to supply all the products you need, along with any help you need to use them.
Kidderminster-based WIS –Worcestershire Insulation Supplies – sells all manner of building materials, with a speciality in
insulation products such as PIR (Polyisocyanurate) insulation boards and cavity batts, the lightweight slabs of semi-rigid glass mineral wool which slot inside masonry walls to keep heat in and cold out.
Another Worcestershire company, CJC Aggregates & Landscaping Supplies, stocks an immense range of decorative stones, slabs, sands and gravels, paving, fencing and building materials to facilitate projects from a small, home-built barbecue to a complete home extension.
K E Electrical is who you need for all things electric, especially those at the green edge of home improvement, such as emission-free boilers and electric vehicle charging points.
Discovery Kitchens & Joinery will make your home stand out. Expect amazing results from this company’s bespoke service and determination to make every home improvement project and every piece of furniture unique.
With a similar attitude to soft furnishings, Creature Comforts Upholstery provides an individual service for all your fabric furnishings, made-to-measure in the fabrics of your choice whether cushions, curtains, blinds, headboards or the actual upholstery of chairs and other furnishings. Accessories such as lampshades, bed heads and even pet beds can be made to match, complement or stand alone!
Anyone thinking about a garden project will find everything they need at CJC Aggregates & Landscaping Supplies, whether they are a professional landscaper, a builder, a DIY enthusiast or a first-time trier. The company stocks some 3,500 quality products, for paving, fencing, drainage, decking, construction, groundwork and decorative finishes. There’s basically everything for the garden except for plants.
CJC has gained a great reputation since it was formed in 2020 by friends and business partners Richard Sadler and Colin Collins. Focusing on great quality products rather than the cheapest choices, it has built up into a one stop shop for independent landscapers and members of the public alike to obtain their supplies, along with any advice they might need.
The company’s farmbased site between Worcester and Pershore is far easier to find and drive to than big city venues and people can browse a vast range of possibilities. There are 100 different paving layouts, for example, 40 different types of gravel and numerous textured stones from plum slate to flamingo pebbles for decorative finishes.
Visitors will find compost, topsoil, woodchip, mulches and bark; contemporary and traditional fencing, gates and trellis, along with posts and varnishes; building materials including cement, sand, gravel and sub-bases; and everything needed for decking, whether timber or composite. They can lay down lawns with turf, seed or artificial grass, or create their perfect new drive from slabs, stone blocks, resin or tarmac. Staff will even turn on hoses so customers can see what their choices look like wet and test their slipresistance.
CJC’s popularity has grown rapidly, catering for the smallest landscaping projects to the largest. In just five years, they’ve built up a big customer base, with five vehicles delivering all over Worcestershire and parts of Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and West Midlands. Trade landscapers often send their customers along to choose their products, rather than taking heavy samples along to them.
Managing Director Richard says: “People like coming here and we tell our staff to just treat everyone who walks through the door as they would like to be treated themselves. We are the friendly face of landscaping supplies.”

Hotel Indigo Coventry: Stylish Comfort and 10/10 City Escape
Coventry is a fascinating and vibrant city, and there’s surely no better place from which to enjoy it than Hotel Indigo Coventry. This funky, modern venue made my partner and I feel super-special, from the moment we were greeted by friendly staff until our departure after a full English breakfast complemented by fruits, yoghurts and cereals and served in our own beautiful bedroom.
Hotel Indigo Coventry is in a fantastic location for exploring the city and its landmarks, including its outstanding modern cathedral (sitting alongside the bombed-out ruins of the original), the Herbert Art Gallery and, 10 minutes’ walk away, Coventry Skydome with its ice rink, cinema, casino and much, much more.
The hotel décor gives an appreciative nod to the city’s formidable industrial heritage as birthplace of the jet engine and historic centre of cycle production, among many other things. At its heart is Cogs Bar & Kitchen, really welcoming and stylish, where we enjoyed delicious Porn Star Martinis and, later, a wonderful three course dinner from a contemporary continental menu with burger mains named after local characters such as Lady Godiva, Peeping Tom and boxer Bradley Goldsmith.
Our bedroom was stunning, like an open plan penthouse with massive windows giving amazing views, a splendid modern bathroom, sofa seating and a deliciously large, comfy bed which gave us a blissful night’s sleep. People who wanted a workout beforehand could enjoy one in the hotel fitness centre, or perhaps at the nearby golf course.
We enjoyed fantastic service throughout and our stay was 10/10 from start to finish. We definitely recommend Hotel Indigo Coventry for anyone visiting the city.

YLW Club Starter Kit: Simple, Science-Backed Skincare That Works
I was lucky enough to be sent some wellbeing products by the amazing YLW Club and after giving them a few weeks’ trial, I will never look back! Thanks to the company’s newly-launched Starter Kit I now sleep better, look better and feel great!
YLW – which stands for You’re Looking Well – used research analysts to discover what really works in skincare and supplements. They found that gut health and sleep profoundly impacted how people look and feel, whereas most beauty products only work skin deep.
What YLW have now launched is a simplified skin care routine in one sunny yellow package. This Starter Kit, consists of four hero products; a day pill, night pill, day cream and night cream. They’ve been formulated by world class scientists and dermatologists to work harmoniously with skin, sleep, digestion, energy, immunity and mood and they really work!
In the past, I’ve always found skincare and supplements confusing, with so many choices on the market. I’ve tried many, but YLW Starter Kit is by far the best.
As a busy mum of two with my own business, it’s not easy to follow a complicated skin care routine, so it was a real joy to find the super-simple YLW regime.
I quickly noticed I was getting better sleep, waking up refreshed rather than feeling drowsy. Soon, my mood, sense of wellbeing and skin condition improved.
After four to six weeks, I had more energy, felt calmer and was less over-stimulated. My skin looked and felt fantastic, soft and glowing!
The products are cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and free from allergens.
You’re Looking Well’s long awaited Starter Kit has officially landed, bringing together all four of their bestselling formulas in a 7-day supply. Whether you’ve been wanting to try the full range, need a thoughtful gift, or want a travel-friendly wellness companion, this kit is made for you.
Inside, you’ll find their groundbreaking Day Pill, Night Pill, Day Cream, and Night Cream—formulated by world class scientists and dermatologists to work in perfect harmony to transform your skin, sleep, and gut health.
