We have had all ages participate in our Tuscany bike tour. However, we do suggest that children must be able to ride an adult sized bike comfortably (minimum age 10) to make the experience an enjoyable one. Q. What clothes should I wear? The ride starts out with a 0.75 mile uphill ride at the doorway to the Chianti countryside, but frequent stops will be made to enjoy the views on the way up to the top of the hill. Once we have gotten to the top, we will be riding our bikes through the neighborhoods of the local Florentine nobility as we make our way to a famous Renaissance villa tucked away in the hills behind Florence. We will stop and tour the villa before ducking into the ancient wine cellar to do our wine and olive oil tasting accompanied by a light Tuscan snack of local products. All products are produced on premises and only sold locally. Our return leg back to Florence will take us by the spectacular Piazzale Michelangelo where we will stop for pictures with one of the best views of Florence. Then it is all downhill and back into Florence, coming into the San Niccolò area then riding to our favorite gelateria to top off a perfect half day outing!

Q. What type of bikes do you use? We use good quality hybrid or commuter style bikes with 24 speeds. Q. Do I have to be fit to do the tour? Most of our tours are slowly paced with plenty of pauses and water breaks along the way. It’s a bike ride, not a race. And we guarantee a thoroughly enjoyable day. We want you to enjoy the tour to the fullest, however, a basic level of fitness is suggested. Q. Do you welcome non cycling partners? Yes, we do! We can also offer some alternative activities. 4

This leisurely, professionally guided and supported bike ride in the Tuscan countryside just outside of Florence will lead you along olive groves, vineyards, medieval castles, hillside villa estates and breathtaking panoramic views of Florence, as you ride through the heart of Tuscany into the wine area called Chianti. This tour is a full day among the Tuscan landscapes, with a stop for lunch at a private Chianti Villa Estate, where you will take a guided tour of the vineyards, the ancient “cantina” and the “Orciaia” below the medieval tower. Local wine tasting will accompany your meal. Then get ready for your ride back to our bike depot. With the departure right from our office in Florence, this is what we like to call our “green” tour: meaning no shuttle vans and no support vehicles, no carbon footprint - just you, your bike and your bilingual guide. Your guide is there to show you the way, point out the sights, and fix any flats or malfunctions you may have along the way. The tour includes a scenic ride up to the picturesque town of Fiesole, located to the northeast of Florence. Once you arrive in Fiesole you get to see one of the best views of Florence. The ride then continues further into the hills where you will get to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in the area - which is claimed by many of our guests to be one of the best meals of their trip! On the return trip back to Florence, we will stop at a family run local Chianti vineyard where we will see where their wine is made and stored, along with where they store their personal stash of olive oil. Tasting of both is encouraged! The return ride to Florence is mostly downhill and we will get you back to the meeting point no later than 5:00 p.m.

Enjoy the pleasure of a carefree downhill bike ride in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. We pick you up at our meeting point in Florence and drive you up above the city center to the hilltop abbey of Montesenario Nature Reserve. We slowly bike down stopping for lunch and a tour of an authentic family run vineyard for olive oil and wine tasting. Day 1 - Warm up with our single day Classic Chianti Tour in the morning. After lunch we will break off from the rest of the group and head further south towards Siena. During our trip, we will be passing through classic Tuscan towns such as Greve and the hilltop town of Panzano. After a coffee and a visit to the famous butcher of Panzano, Dario Cecchini, we will head down to Villa Rosa where we will be spending the night. Day 2 – After breakfast at the hotel we start out descending downhill and flat for several kilometers before we begin our first climb up to the town Radda in Chianti. Then another downhill will take us to lunch in the town of Gaiole, home of the world famous vintage bike race called L’Eroica. While sitting in the main square of Gaiole, we will introduce you to our friend over the years, Fernanda, who will serve us a delicious Tuscan lunch. After coffee, we will ride back on the bikes for a nice long meandering stretch of road before we come to the town of Pianella. You will then have the choice to stop here or proceed uphill to Siena (in our van or still pedaling), where we will say good-bye and our amazing experience together will officially end.

FAQs . . . Q. What are the age limitations? We have had all ages participate in our tours. Of course, if you want to be the driver you must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license. Q. Who drives the car? What if I do not know how to use a manual gearbox? Basically, you drive the car and we guide you in our own car. However, if you do not feel comfortable with the manual gearbox we can provide chauffeur service with extra fee.

This is the real driving tour that allows you to cruise around in the picturesque Tuscan landscape in an original vintage Italian car: the legendary Fiat 500! We’ll start from our meeting point in the center of Florence, exit out through the walls of the city and drive towards the panoramic Piazzale Michelangelo to admire a unique view of Florence from the picturesque church of San Miniato. Then we’ll go straight into the Tuscan hills with a cruise through the most beautiful and hidden roads of the Tuscan countryside. We’ll head towards Fiesole, a lovely Italian town next to Florence which still shows traces of its ancient past, continuing into the countryside. On our way back, we’ll again head into the elegant neighborhoods of Florence for a tasty stop at a local familty owned trattoria where you will have the chance to enjoy a delicious Tuscan lunch accompanied by local wines. All food served at the trattoria is made with fresh ingredients and gives you a taste of the true (non-touristy) Tuscan cuisine. After lunch we will be ready to enjoy a final ride on our Fiat 500 back into the center of Florence.

We like Tuscany offers single and multi-day tours in Tuscany. Any client deciding to participate in an activity offered We Like Tuscany is notified and agrees to the following terms and conditions: Privacy We Like Tuscany respects and follows European and Italian privacy laws and standards outlined in INFORMATIVA SULLA TUTELA DELLA PRIVACY (D.L. 196/2003). When you send us information about yourself you agree that we can use it for our companies purposes, however this information will never be shared with third parties according with the above laws. When you provide us with your name and e-mail address we deem this as giving us permission to contact you further. We will never sell or pass on your information to third parties. Your name will reside only in our database and will not be transferred or traded with any other organization. By contacting us, you may always opt-out of any further communications on our behalf. General Policies All tours will be conducted primarily in English. In the case that the tour does not take place due to bad weather, no fee will be applicable to the customer. Participants must be present at the agreed excursion meeting point 10 minutes before departure. No refund will be provided to the individuals that are not present at the agreed meeting time and place. A no show will incur full cost. Participants must provide the organization with a valid ID (passport, identity card and visa and health certificates should they be so requested). Participants in the excursion are required to practice common sense, prudence and diligence, particularly in relation to the equipment provided by the company during the excursion, of which the participants agree to use at their own risk. We Like Tuscany waives all claims for damages made against them, and accepts no liability for any damage to the participant, third parties and equipment caused during excursions. We Like Tuscany does not assume responsibility for loss of baggage, money, valuables or other items during the trip. Participants will be held responsible for any damage to the equipment provided to them by the company. Participants are liable for all damages that We Like Tuscany may endure due to the failure to comply with the above mentioned obligations. Bike Tour Policies Participants of the excursion affirm that they are entirely responsible for their own actions, and that any claim for damages to the company are waived. In particular, clients declare that: 1) they are able to ride a bike safely and competently. 2) they are of good health and free from any ailment that may be aggravated by strenuous activity and or weather conditions including high humidity and heat. We Like Tuscany will provide guests with bicycles and helmets that will be delivered in perfect working condition and which must be returned by the guest in the same working condition at the end of the tour. Fiat 500 Tour Policies Participants of the excursion affirm that they are entirely responsible for their own actions, and that any claim for damages to the company We like Tuscany are waived. In particular, clients declare that: 1) their own a driving license that allows them to drive safely and competently and that they are able to use a manual gearbox. 2) they are of good health and free from any ailment that may be aggravated by strenuous activity and or weather conditions including high humidity and heat. We like Tuscany will provide guests with cars that will be delivered in perfect working condition and which must be returned by the guest in the same working condition at the end of the tour. Cancellation and Rain Policy We never actually cancel the tour for any reason if we can help it. If it is raining during a bike or a walking tour, we offer the following options: a) because we never cancel the tour - we will do an alternative activity (wine tour) and abbreviate the bike ride if at all possible, very rarely does it rain all day long, so there is a good chance we will carry on with the tour; b) 50% of full price refund for cancellations… even on the day of the tour; c) you may reschedule your tour for the following day(s), space permitting at no extra cost; or d) take a rain check for the tour that is transferable to others. - pass it on to someone else if you can’t use it. Children Children of 10 years old and up are allowed to participate in a tour when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children that take part in a bike tour must be able to fit over and ride a small framed 27 inch wheeled bicycle.
