MEET FANTASTIC ART at Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre (LESC) FEBRUARY 2011 EXHIBITION ‘BLACK HISTORY MONTH – FREEDOM LINKS' Opening Ceremony on Fri, Feb 4th, 6pm – 9pm Several of the foremost artists in Barbados will be exhibiting award winning pieces, some from the National Collection, some from private residences and some of which are not for sale. Confirmed artists are: Ras Akyem Ramsay, Ras Ishi Butcher (showing his internationallyrenowned 8ft. x 5ft. piece (Trans-Atlantic Crossing), Arlette St.Hill, Ann Rudder, Ras Ilix Heartman, Alison Chapman-Andrews, Heidi Berger, Sylvester Ade Clarke, Rasheeed Boodhoo, Martina Pilé, Ireka Jelani, Dawnay St.John, Edmund Gill, Multiple, International and Lifetime Achievement Awardee, Joyce Daniel and Hartley Alleyne. As part of the Opening Ceremony.Prof. Alvin Thompson is to present his latest book, *Confronting Slavery – Breaking through the Corridors of Silence. Exhibition ends Monday, February 28th, 2011.
