Reclaimed Water Program Million Gallon Achievement

Corpus Christi Water (CCW) reached a conservation milestone on July 22, distributing its one millionth gallon of free reclaimed water since launching the program in February Congratulations team!

The program provides Type 1 reclaimed water at no cost for landscape irrigation, allowing residents to maintain their yards without violating Stage 3 Drought Restrictions.

The reclaimed water program at Oso Water Reclamation Plant has become a widely used resource for residents seeking drought-compliant landscape irrigation options.

“Reaching one million gallons distributed in just five months is a remarkable achievement,” said Drew Molly, CWW Chief Operating Officer “This milestone demonstrates the program ’ s success and our community’s commitment to innovative water conservation solutions during these drought conditions ”

The Buses and the Bees

As the new school year begins, we want to remind all employees to stay alert and practice extra caution in and around school zones. Let’s keep students, staff, and families safe as they return to school. Safety starts with awareness please drive responsibly!

CCW crews work in easements, meter sites, and around vegetation. That means there is a risk of encountering bees and snakes, especially during warmer months.

Bees and wasps: Avoid wearing strong fragrances and keep sugary drinks sealed. If swarmed, remain calm and slowly walk away do not swat. In the event of a sting, monitor for allergic reactions such as swelling, hives, or trouble breathing, and seek medical help immediately if symptoms occur.

Snakes: Always wear protective gear boots, gloves, and long pants when working near brush, tall grass, or debris Never reach into areas you can't see clearly If you spot a snake, do not engage Slowly back away

Stay alert, protect yourself, and report any bee or snake activity to your supervisor right away
