SEPTEMBER

2, 2025

September is National Preparedness Month

It’s a great time to review fire safety. Fires can happen quickly and without warning, so prevention and preparedness are key.

Housekeeping: Keep work areas free of clutter, oily rags, and combustible materials

Electrical safety: Do not overload outlets, use damaged cords, or run wires where they can be crushed

Equipment checks: Inspect fire extinguishers regularly and know where the nearest one is located.

Emergency readiness: Make sure you know evacuation routes and meeting points in case of a fire

No smoking in unauthorized areas: Always follow designated smoking rules

Taking small steps to prevent fires helps protect our workplace, our property, and each other Let’s stay alert and safe!

Jennifer Wilson is the Safety & Security Coordinator for CCW. She can be reached by email at jenniferw7@cctexas.com or on her cell phone at 361-502-1076.
