Miller High School graduate Joel Mumphord found a piece of history and knew it needed to be at Solomon M. Coles High School.
Mumphord recently found a special envelope his late mother kept. The writing on the envelope belonged to Solomon Coles’ father. Coles was a former slave who later served his community as an educator. On Feb. 28, Mumphord presented the letter to Chris Hall, principal of Coles High School. The envelope will be on display on campus. View more photos of the envelope.
