Honoring our veterans

Today and every day, we’re proud to be part of a community that honors our veterans. Across CCISD, campuses paid tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you, veterans, especially those a part of Team CCISD, for your service and sacrifice.

Cybersecurity alert

We want to remind everyone to be cautious of fraudulent emails that appear to come from your principal or other district administrators requesting money, gift cards, or other forms of payment.

These messages are phishing scams designed to trick you into sending money or revealing personal information. Please note that principals and district administrators will never ask for money or gift cards via email.

Be alert for messages that look familiar but come from addresses outside the district. Scammers often send short, casual messages like “Please contact me” or “Are you available?” to build trust before making their real request.

If you receive such a message:

• Do not respond or click any links.

• Do not purchase or send gift cards.

• Verify the request by contacting your principal directly using a known phone number.

• Delete or report the message by clicking Report as Phishing in Outlook.

• You can forward it to emailalert@ccisd. us.

Leadership definition

Corpus Christi ISD, in partnership with The Holdsworth Center, created a leadership definition to guide the how of our work in support of the district’s mission and vision.

Empowering Minds

• Prioritize growth and resiliency

• Earn autonomy through excellence

• Promote shared accountability

Congratulations, November Above the Line winners!

CCISD has a Leadership Definition, which we use to select Above the Line employee of the month winners. District leaders recently announced Above the Line employee of the month winners! Honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they were selected. Nominate someone who goes Above the Line.

Jaime Bazan, Teacher, Smith Elementary School

Mr. Bazan follows the definition by empowering minds. He is passionate about his content area and goes above and beyond to ensure students are engaged in meaningful learning. He thoughtfully prepares and sets up hands-on labs that spark curiosity and deepen student understanding.

Senior Officer Erica Sotello

Senior Officer Erica Sotello follows the definition by developing hearts. Officer Sotello is a true team player. She has worked to build strong relationships with our students and staff. Her work has built positive moments with students that have translated to student success on campus. She has also championed new safety ideas and has been helpful in ensuring our daily safety.

Michael Garcia, Assistant Principal, Driscoll Middle School

Mr. Garcia follows the definition by developing hearts. He ensures students and staff are heard. He goes out of his way to make sure everyone is on the track to success. He is always looking for ways to be better than we were yesterday.
