Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez recently announced the December 2021 Above the Line employees. Three honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they had been selected. Nominations are always open for Above the Line employee recognitions. Nominate an outstanding employee today! Aurelio Tamayo, principal, Blanche Moore Elementary School “Mr. Tamayo goes above and beyond daily. He guides his team, gets out there, and helps everyone on campus. He helps cafeteria staff, custodians and will help campus crossing guards before and after school. Mr. Tamayo wants the students to succeed and be excited to come to school. He truly leads by example.” Trudy Brown, Safety Officer, Veterans Memorial High School “Officer Brown works tirelessly in the halls of the school, mentoring and encouraging our students on a daily basis. The students trust and believe in her. She always has the students in mind. She participates in every fundraiser the students have and keeps up with extracurricular activities, such as sports and music.” Angelique Flores-Cano, 3rd grade teacher, Rafael Galvan Elementary School “Mrs. Angelique Flores-Cano is the campus “bucket filler.” She always finds ways to fill a person’s need with a huge helping heart. She will assist any grade level. The students and parents love her because of her ability to accommodate their emotional, social and academic needs. Our motto here is ‘Teamwork makes the dream work’ and Mrs. Cano demonstrates that every day.”
