Congratulations, December Above the Line Winners!
District leaders recently announced the December 2023 Above the Line employees. Four honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they were selected. Do you know an employee who goes Above the Line? Nominate them! James Eaton, Chemistry Teacher, Veterans Memorial High School Mr. Eaton did not hesitate to help the science department when we were short-staffed, while continuing to serve his own students. He volunteered his time to take on an additional prep as well as provide substitute lesson plans for use as needed. This selfless act ensures that students continue to receive high quality instruction. Tabitha Persaud, Substitute Tabitha Persaud has served as a substitute for various teachers across Kaffie Middle School. She gives 100 percent in everything she does and focuses on the students. She sets high expectations and helps all students reach those expectations. She has been a team player since day one.
Angelita Rivera, Parent Liaison, Tom Browne Middle School As an active member of many programs and committees on our campus, Ms. Rivera works diligently with students, parents, staff and community members to promote success for all. Ms. Rivera became the new cheer coach and worked with the girls all summer. Ms. Rivera’s presence on our campus is positively felt by all. Yvonne Salinas, Administrator for Academics and Accountability, Carroll High School Yvonne has done an incredible job of managing testing and accountability, resulting in a marked improvement in school performance this year. Her system of communicating with students prior to testing is exceptional, as she meets with every student beforehand to ensure that they know where to show up on the day of testing. INTERCOM
