COVID-19 TESTING

COVID-19 testing for CCISD staff and students is available at Lozano Instructional Service Center. Clinic hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Appointments may be scheduled online Walk-ins are based on availability.

In with the new: Remodeled libraries revealed at campuses

The Education Service Center, Region 2 revealed renovated libraries at Mireles and Galvan elementary schools. The seaworthy library at Mireles was revealed on April 13, and the out of this world library at Galvan was revealed April 18. We are so grateful for our community partnerships!

Teach for Texas Loan Repayment Assistance Program

The deadline to apply for the 20222023 academic year is May 29, 2023. Complete an application using the Teach for Texas online form. To qualify for participation in this program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be certified in a critical shortage teaching field, be currently teaching full-time in that field and have taught in that field for at least one year in a Texas public school or be a certified educator currently teaching in a critial shortage community (campus) full-time and have taught in that community (campus) full-time for at least one year.

Critical shortage fields for 20222023:

• Bilingual/English as second language

• Career and Technical Education

• Technology Applications and Computer Science

• English Language Arts and Reading

• Math

• Science

District employees accepted to alternative certifcation opportunity

Corpus Christi ISD’s Office of Professional Learning is partnering with TAMUCC to provide a term-limited opportunity for alternative teacher certifcation. To qualify, participants must be employed by CCISD as a paraprofessional or long-term substitute during the 2022-2023 school year. They must also have a bachelor’s degree. Title II funds will be used to cover expenses relation to tutition, fees, books and testing required for the program. Participants will begin coursework in summer 2023 and will have the opportunity for teacher placement for the 2023-2024 school year.

The following will participate in the program, pending acceptance into the TAMUCC program. Congratulations!
