Superintendent Dr. Roland Hernandez recently announced the January 2021 Above the Line employees. Three honorees were surprised at their work locations with the announcement they had been selected. Nominations are always open for Above the Line employee recognitions. Nominate an outstanding employee today! Administrator - Melody Pro, CTE Coordinator “Melody is always willing to go above and beyond not only for her team but for all her CTE teachers. She works hard to ensure her department is running smoothly, and is always on top of it if her team or teachers need anything. She definitely deserves to be recognized. She goes above and beyond for the students in all CTE courses. If the student or course is lacking anything to be successful, she ensures it will be fixed. She always makes sure her teachers shine.” Auxiliary - Burton Baxter, Auditorium Manager, Veterans Memorial High School “Burton oversees the CCISD auditorium and he is constantly going above and beyond to accomodate campus events in the space. Throughout the pandemic, we had to find creative ways to allow our fine arts students to showcase their many talents. Mr. Baxter has played an integral role in facilitating our outdoor concert series for both our VMHS choir and orchestra. He worked tirelessly to create a beatiful outdoor venue for our students to perform.” Educator - Jessica Perez, Pre-K Teacher, Luther Jones Elementary School “Jessica tackled and embraced the challenge she faced due to the COVID pandemic. She never complained or even thought twice about the tremendous, daunting task of educating face-to-face learners and remote learners simultaneously. She saw the needs of every student, whether in person or online, and took ownership of providing them with the highest quality education.”
