PRE-K AND ELEMENTARY: MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS:

PRE-K AND ELEMENTARY: MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS:
Ihope everyone is having a fun summer, with time to relax and enjoy our beautiful, coastal community. Here at CCISD, we have enjoyed some rest and relaxation as well. Now, we are busily preparing to bring a great educational experience to more than 33,000 students across our city.
As you may know, we were honored as the 2023 Best Large School District in Texas by the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program, the same program that selected our school board as one of five state finalists for Outstanding Board. H-E-B is a wonderful supporter of public education, and we are honored that they recognized Corpus Christi ISD at this level. We believe honors such as these shine a light on the work we do to form strong school-family relationships.
One of the best ways you can help us, and your child, this year is by ensuring your child has excellent attendance. As parents, we want our children to have a bright future, and the research is clear:
consistent attendance is directly linked to academic success.
This year, we welcome our newest school, Creekside Elementary School. Our Evans and Allen Elementary School students will be in their new home, in the renovated and expanded Allen building. Dawson Elementary School has a new wing as well. Driscoll and Adkins Middle Schools will soon have new gymnasiums, and we are looking forward to cutting the ribbon on a number of renovated libraries and new playground equipment at our elementary schools. Meanwhile, Miller and Ray High Schools will be enjoying their extensive renovations, and we have two middle schools under construction. It is an exciting time to be in our district and our city!
great people at your child’s school.
Our highly trained educators are ready to help all students progress academically while meeting the unique needs of each student. We encourage families to discuss concerns at the school level, as well as to use our Speak Up system to report safety issues. When we work together, we create the welcoming, neighborly public school district we all want and deserve. We can’t wait to meet our new families and to see our returning ones!
Districtwide, we’re just a click away with the “Contact us” button at www.ccisd.us or by texting us at (361) 600-3691. See you soon!
Our principals, teachers and support staff across our 53 schools are delighted to welcome students to a new year of education and extracurricular activities. Please take time to get to know the

Attending school every day and arriving on time is crucial to a student’s academic success. Students who attend school regularly are more likely to succeed academically and to graduate from high school.
What can parents do to help their child develop strong attendance habits?
• Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
• Set or help your child develop a regular bedtime and morning routine.
• Limit the use of social media at night to allow for a good night’s sleep.
• Encourage your child to join school
Develop backup plans for getting to school in case something comes up.
Communicate with the school to check attendance and report absences.
What if I need to miss school?
• If a student is absent, the parent or guardian must call or email the school that day to report the reason for the absence.
Students must also submit a medical excuse or written note from the parent describing the reason for the absence.
Can my child lose credit if they have less than 90% attendance for the year? State law requires that students attend class 90% of the school year to receive credit.
• Ten or more unexcused absences in a six-month period may result in truancy court hearings.
CCISD is committed to assisting families with attendance barriers. Always reach out to your school staff for support. For more information on attendance requirements, contact the Office of Admission, Attendance and Student Support Services at 361-695-7246.
All campus sign-out procedures must be followed, and proof of identity must be presented to the front office before a student may leave campus during the
school day. For more information on sign-out policies, contact your student’s school.
Schools require students to bring basic supplies (paper, pencils, scissors, etc.) to class. Students may also be asked to purchase additional supplies for individual classes. Contact your child's school for a complete list of supplies for each grade level and campus. See below for the 2024-25 CCISD elementary school, middle school and high school supply list. School supply lists are also available at www.ccisd.us
