A tutorial video is included with each Jupyter Notebook. As a participant for the workshop, you will be the first to discover these exercises. An online solution, the Copernicus Marine Service JupyterLab is at your disposal to practice directly these exercises.

Workshop Material & practical environment 1- Visit the “shared_notebooks”, the public folder and select the training-ARCTIC-2022 and discover the list of the Jupyter Notebooks available

A tutorial video is available to learn how to use the JupyterHub and the Jupyter Notebooks interface:

3- Copy the folder from the public folder to your home directory Before you start working, you must copy the folder of the notebooks on your “home directory.”

You cannot work directly in the public folder and save your changes! To do that, you will have to launch a terminal and copy/paste the command line corresponding to the notebook you want to practice. Below, you will find the list of the command lines. Respect the spaces and the character case. Don’t forget the final dot! cp -r shared_notebooks/training-ARCTIC-2022/Beginner-Overview/ . cp -r shared_notebooks/training-ARCTIC-2022/Intermediate-Thermohaline/ .

4- To launch a terminal, click on the button Terminal + Copy and run the command line corresponding to the notebook you want. Cf Above.

5- Back to your Home Directory (click on the folder icon), you will see your copy. Congratulation! You can now start editing your Jupyter Notebook. You can now launch your notebook and start to practice
