WELCOME TO
COPENHAGEN
Copenhagen Pride Week goes down from August 14. - 19. and this is the full program which includes free concerts, debates, workshops, seminars, parties and activities all aiming to celebrate love and diversity and to create a platform from which we can gain more knowledge and share our mutual experiences. Our human rights program this year is bigger than ever before with several more venues than previous years. Besides the debate tent on Regnbuepladsen (the Rainbow Square) and Brasserie Royal, our program also takes place at the City Hall, in Vartov and at AIDS-Fondet in Vestergade. A map of locations can be found inside. The board of Copenhagen Pride wishes to give a loud and proud shout-out to the amazing team of volunteers who has worked intensely over the last 6 months with planning and organising the human rights program. This year again we transform the City Hall Square into Pride Square from Tuesday 14. August until Saturday 18. August. Pride Square is open daily from noon and you can meet LGBT Danmark, AIDS-Fondet, Sabaah, Homoware, Wella, New York Pride, Stolichnaya, Barefoot Wine, LO & FTF, Cock’s & Cows, 7-Eleven and Pan Idræt along with several other partners who are present at Pride Square throughout the week. On stage we are especially proud of presenting a line-up of amazing Danish artists including Anne Linnet, Ida Corr, Iris Gold, L.I.G.A, Kill J and Jonezy. On Saturday we also look forward to seeing queer hip hop artist Zebra Katz conquer Pride Stage followed by legendary DJ Robin Skouteris who once again will be the closing act on Pride Stage. For those of you who still haven’t gotten enough, the official Pride Party will take place at Pumpehuset in Studiestræde. Copenhagen Pride Week is only possible because we have a lot of partners and sponsors who choose to support us financially and in other ways. For this support we are truly grateful, and we hope that you will pay attention to the organisations, brands and companies that come out and support us while celebrating the core values that are in the very heart of Copenhagen Pride. And on that note we also want thank Tolkegruppen Oversættergruppen P/S for translating the Copenhagen Pride Week Program 2018. We also urge you to buy our support wristband for 50 DKK and to quench your thirst in our bars on Pride Square. By doing so you are helping us directly and supporting your pride. We have done our very best to put together a diverse program with a broad representation, and we hope the following pages are full of activities and events that you do not want to miss. We look forward to seeing you for Copenhagen Pride Week 2018! Lots of love from
A big thanks to our main sponsors:

TUESDAY 14/8
HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM 14:00 - 14:15 OPENING OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAMME
Minister for Equal Opportunities, Eva Kjer Hansen, opens the Human Rights Program of Copenhagen Pride Week 2018. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
14:00 - 14:45 TRANS MONOLOGUE
What will you be using your pussy for, once you get it? Which happiness will it bring you that your cock can’t? What’s on your mind when you masturbate? These are all examples of questions that many trans persons were asked when meeting the health workers at Rigshospitalet. Join a trailblazing debate/performance with spokesperson Moeisha Aden from Sabaah, who dares to mix up stories, truth and fiction about what it means to be transgender, a Muslim and a minority in the minority. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
14:00 - 14:45 ROOM FOR EVERYONE IN FOOTBALL – ALSO LGBTS? DBU, the Danish national football [soccer] association, has kicked the ball into play on the LGBT area, but a number of questions pop up. What is it that in practice can make it hard for LGBT people to join in? What will it take out in the clubs to create a setting with room for everyone? Hear more about the tone and jargon on the field, learn more about DBU’s campaigns and join the debate. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
14:15 - 14:45 DIVERSITY OR TOLERANCE?
The norm stormers will thematise the differences between diversity and tolerance in this debate, where we’ll discuss representation of LBGTIQA+ persons in popular culture and based on our experiences with normcritical teaching in the 7th to 10th grades. How are LGBTIQA+ persons portrayed in movies, series and other media? How do schools teach about LGBTIQA+? Are we dealing with diversification or a tolerance culture, and what are the different effects of each of these? Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 CHEMSEX – ADDICTED TO DRUGS OR TO SEX?
In Copenhagen and other cities around the world, chemsex – the use of psychedelic drugs in connection with sex – is on the rise amongst men, who sleep with men. In a study by AIDS-Fondet in the summer of 2017, several respond that they have had negative experiences related to chemsex, including sexual assaults, the loss of social relations, overdoses and addictions. At the same time, chemsex increases the risk of infection with HIV and other STIs significantly. Join the debate with experts from AIDS-Fondet about a phenomenon that takes up more and more space in the Danish gay scene and take part in discussing, what the scene in specific and society in general can and should do to minimise the related risks. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 DRAG FOR BEGINNERS
Do you also love drag? Would you consider trying to be transformed yourself? Stop by and meet some of Copenhagen’s most popular drags, and learn about everything from tucking to contouring. This workshop is run by Chantal al Arab. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
15:00 - 16:00 PERSPECTIVES ON NORDIC COOPERATION
In Denmark, the government recently introduced an LGBT action plan to help increase the focus on LGBTI people’s safety and promote openness. But how are things in Sweden and Norway? Come and join a conversation between, amongst others, the Danish minister for Equal Opportunities and pride representatives, where we share experiences and discuss the challenges and potential solutions to better quality of life for LGBTI persons. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
16:00 - 16:45 INCLUSIVENESS AND THE USE OF LANGUAGE
What does it mean to be inclusive? How is exclusion and rejection felt, and how can we be better at avoiding this both in the scene and in society? Come join this discussion, where we want to shine a light on whether we succeed in creating inclusiveness, and how our way of speaking can affect the ability of others to join in. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
16:15 - 17:00 CONDITIONAL LOVE
Can love be conditional? Can parents love their children for ever, if they need their love of God to be even greater? Unfortunately, it is not alien for LGBT+ persons that their family’s acceptance and love is not without conditions, and even in a political landscape increasingly putting open-mindedness and diversity on the agenda, LGBT+ persons still experience challenges with everything from selfcensorship, unwanted homelessness to expulsion from the home. Sabaah in particular talks to many young people, who experience these challenges in their families and surroundings, where topics such as honour and shame can ultimately lead to checking in to crisis centres and residences. Sabaah therefore invites you to dialogue and debate about conditional love. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
17:00 - 17:45 DID WE SWIPE INTIMACY TO DEATH?
Whether you’re after a quick bang or a romantic date, Grindr, Hornet and Tinder are amazing tools to get in touch with others on the scene. Research shows that since the different apps penetrated phones in Denmark, we have much more casual sex. But it seems that the casual goes hand-in-hand with the impersonal and even reckless – far more people are worse at discussing prevention, before the sheets start to rustle. Are we removing the intimacy from sex by cynically swiping right or left looking for our next hook-up? And how can that affect our own self-determination in terms of how to protect ourselves, who to have sex with and not least how? Stop in, when AIDS-Fondet invites you to a debate on how the universe of dating apps create both opportunities and challenges in our sex lives. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
17:00 - 17:45 NORM-CRITICS AT CHILDREN’S LEVEL
In this workshop we’ll give a short introduction to norm-critical practice at the children’s and youths area. We will investigate how norms concerning, amongst others, gender, sexuality and minority positions may have a negatively categorising effect on the pedagogical work – also in relation to some of today’s popular pedagogical concepts such as recognition and inclusion. There will be an opportunity to work with tools to become more critical of one’s own norms through case studies and discussions. Participants: Jacob Graack, lecturer at the Bachelor degree in Social Education, UCC Campus Carlsberg and Lisa Rasmussen, lecturer at the Bachelor degree in Social Education, UCC Nord. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
17:00 - 19:00 TANTRA MINI-WORKSHOP
Workshop focused on your own body awareness. We start with a brief theoretical overview, followed by exercises. The topics are body awareness games which contain closeness exercises, touching exercises, massage exercises (non-genital). All exercises will be focused on listening to your own body, daring to explore, drawing boundaries and expressing desires. What happens in you; e.g. when is a touch okay and when isn’t it; and what does it do to you, when it feels okay or when it doesn’t feel quite as okay? The workshop is a safe-space workshop open to any LGBTQIA+ person. It is a closed workshop, which you need to sign-up for through our Facebook event: KSP: Tantra mini-workshop. Language: Danish. Venue: AIDS-Fondet, Vestergade 18E, 1456 Copenhagen
TUESDAY 14/8
18:00 - 18:45 ASEXUAL IN A SEXUAL SOCIETY
A widespread understanding of sexuality is that of sexual liberation being a human right, but therein also lies a norm that “real” liberation includes hooking up with whomever you want, whenever you want, however you want. What happens for those, who fall outside that norm and do not have an interest in sex? Are they excluded from sexual liberation? Does it even hold true, when we in Denmark believe to have the right to our own sexuality? These questions are debated by the Danish Association of Asexuals. A panel will invite to a busy debate – with each other and with the audience. They seek to make it clear how asexuality affects various current understandings of sexuality, and to uncover the stigma met by asexuals in a sexualised society. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
18:00 - 18:45 LGBTQI FAMILY FORMATION
It’s not easy to form a family as an LGBTQI person. First off, there is the biological part: Should it be adoption, a rainbow family, a sperm donor, a surrogate or an entirely different option? Next up are the mental challenges, which can be both internal and external: How will the child react to the way it was brought into this world? Do others think of us as a real family? Who is the mother, and who is the father – and are both of those even needed? The chairman of Dare Danmark, Mikkel Raahede, is the father of 3 girls born by a carrier in the USA. Signe Fjord is a single mum by choice. Along with representatives of other family forms, they meet for a candid chat with each other and the audience about family formation, pressure of expectations and release. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
19:00 - 20:00 YOUTH POLITICAL DEBATE
We have invited the youth political parties to talk about LGBTQ rights in Denmark, where we will cover topics including: Where are we today? Where do we want to go? - And not least, what can the youth parties do to help lift the LGBTQ agenda? Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
19:00 - 19:45 A NEED FOR SEPARATIST SPACES?
We take our basis in the group KSKyoung and the opportunities and challenges in creating separatist spaces for a single minority in a minoritised environment. As an example, is it alright to make a space only for women, who sleep with women? Further to this, we dive deeper into some of the talks and exchanges that may take place in a space for WSWs. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
19:30 - 21:00 WORKSHOP ABOUT INTIMACY AND CLOSENESS
On the LGBTQIA+ scene, many are happy to talk about sex. Casual sex, one-night stands and sex clubs. Sex on drugs and sex when drunk. But maybe we don’t talk quite as much about closeness and intimacy? In the hunt for the right partner, for many it becomes hard to keep themselves in focus. Are we sometimes willing to forego protection in our eagerness for acknowledgement and physical closeness, because we are scared of rejection? Does chemsex and alcohol become a choice, because we are vulnerable? And does HIV become just one pill a day? That, and much more, is the focus for MSM campaign manager Karoline Barkvoll Holstad and clinical sexologist Tonny Brønløkke Hertz from AIDS-Fondet. The workshop will be a mix of presentations, assignments and debate; and is a safe-space workshop open to all LGBTQIA+ persons. Language: Danish. Venue: AIDS-Fondet, Vestergade 18E, 1456 Copenhagen
LGBTQI family formation 18:00 - 18:45, Hovedkassen

15:00 - 15:45 DRAGS IN THE PRIDE
17:00 - 17:45 DIVERSITY AND EVERYDAY LIFE FOR TRANSGENDER KIDS
The way to discuss gender and sexuality has changed significantly, since those now 70+ years old were young and forced into hiding. Some have been open, but go back into their closet. Is nursing currently able to handle that not everyone is a heterosexual, and not everyone is binary man or woman? If you don’t know the conditions of LGBT+ seniors, it becomes hard to give them the right care and attention. Hear, how the seniors want to be able to thrive. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
Today there are many different tools to fight HIV. What are their respective advantages, and how can we combine them to take better care of each other? Join a dialogue about how we’re using the different strategies to form one united front against HIV. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
How would your rights speech sound, in the year 2018? This workshop explores what speech-writing as a tool can be used for, and how speeches can create room for change and be used to shine the spotlight on LGBT+ person’s experiences and rights. This workshop is presented by musician and LGBT+ activist Karina Willumsen, who is part of the social enterprise communication agency SIVIL. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
When the Pride movement was founded in the aftermath of the Stonewall riots, transgender persons and drags were key driving forces. Also in Denmark, The Gay Liberation Front was characterised by fluid gender expressions. Here, the activists were men in dresses, who marched through the city and thereby pushed the understanding of gender and sexuality. The question is; have we lost our way? Has the Pride become too CIS-gendered? At this panel, local drag queens will discuss why drag is more than lip-syncing and high heels, and why drags are needed in the Pride. Chantal al Arab will lead you through the debate with some of Copenhagen’s most popular drags taking part. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 TRANSGENDER CHILDREN AND YOUTHS
Questions and answers...: What about changing clothes at school? And classmates, family and friends? How does name-change work? What is a binder? Where do I find equals? Where can I read more? Here it’s possible to ask questions and have answers. There will be a panel to offer answers and possible solutions for transgender children and youths based on their own practical experience. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 NOT A HETEROSEXUAL – BUT THEN WHAT?
Humans are varied creatures, and sexual and romantic orientations interweave in different ways; not just gay or straight. Bi+; pan; fluid; asexual and biromantic; bisexual and homoromantic… plus many more variations. To get to know yourself, sometimes it helps to know about more terms. Is it also important to meet others that you can reflect in? And what are the options for that today? Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
16:00 - 16:45 HEALTH INEQUALITY AMONGST WSW
There is a high degree of inequality in health and higher mortality rates among LBGT persons, particularly among women, who sleep with women. What can we do to reduce inequality in health? How do we break the barriers faced by women, who sleep with women? What has happened since last year’s debate? Come and join the debate. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
Denmark has great stories to tell, when it comes to the conditions for LGBTs. Registered partnerships, Lili Elbe, the removal of transgenderness as a psychiatric diagnosis, the 1950s Pornography Affairs, “the ugly law”, lesbian separatism, just to mention some of them. In this lecture, Peter Edelberg – a historian specialising in sexuality history – will tell about Danish LGBT history and open up for a debate about what we want with the history. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
What are gender and norms? What are sexuality and sexual orientation? Who are covered by the abbreviation LGBTQIA+? Come and learn more about LGBTQIA+, gender, norms and sexuality, or have your knowledge refreshed in a quick and accessible format. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
Exclusion from communities is often followed by the shame of feeling that you do not fit in. Many LGBT+ persons experience loneliness, which can in the worst cases lead to suicides. LGBT Danmark’s hotline invites to a dialogue about loneliness in LGBT+ persons and examines how the feelings of shame and not fitting in can imprint on a life as LGBT+. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
There are diverse policies for diversity and inclusion, but do those also include transgender children? How are gender identity, diversity and inclusion seen? How is that implemented in practice? What meaning does it have in everyday life for transgender kids and youths? And how can we improve it? Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
17:00 - 18:30 HOW CAN YOU BECOME SEX-POSITIVE AGAIN?

The session will be open to any and all questions. We will cover topics such as rebuilding one’s sexuality after a trauma, shame, wrongness, vulnerability, the road to sex-positivism, one’s own kink and sexuality, self-esteem in sexuality – an “okayness” about yourself, acknowledgment and praise. This is a safe-space workshop, where all LGBTQIA+ persons are welcome to participate. Language: Danish. Venue: Vartov, Farvergade 27, 1463 Copenhagen
17:00 - 19:00 BDSM / POWER EXCHANGE WORKSHOP
BDSM / Power Exchange is, among other things, about becoming aware of both sides of ourselves; both the dominant and the submissive parts, and about exploring ourselves; expressing desires and setting boundaries. After a short, theoretical talk about remedies, agreements, respect for boundaries and similar, a practice-game will be organised, where participants can explore the dynamics in devotion, control and boundary-setting with respect and trust. Please bring any remedies, that you might need for the game, yourself; such as blindfolds, clamps, ropes, soft whips or whatever else tickles your fancy. Everyone is expected to join in the games in a respectful and attentive manner and to particiapte in a closing reflection. This is a safe-space workshop, open to all LGBTQIA+ persons. WEDNESDAY TUESDAY 8/16 15/8
18:00 - 18:45 POLITICAL PARTIES AT PRIDE – CHEAP PR?
Through the last many year, most political parties have found it obvious to join Copenhagen Pride. But will that strengthen their fight, or does it give politicians and parties the chance to brand themselves as tolerant and ‘with it’? Or is the truth found somewhere between those two points? Join a debate about political parties’ participation in the Pride. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
18:00 - 18:45 FEMME-SHAMING, SEXUAL CULTURE AND GRINDR Grindr and other hook-up apps, along with the urban scene, set the frame for much of the lust in men, who sleep with men. Bodily and sexual ideals are based in masculinity, and femininity in men is often frowned upon. What is the status of femme-shaming among MSMs, and how does it affect the sexual and dating culture? Come and join the debate. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
19:00 - 19:45 SHAME ON YOU!
Together with legislation and persecution, shame is one of the most effective means to suppress free sexuality and free gender identity. Shame is what prevent the personal liberation process, and shame is the final and toughest challenge. How does shame work, where does it come from, and how do we get rid of it? The panel consists of Tomas Lagermand Lundme, Anne Mette Lorentzen, Tone Ottilie, René Benjamin Hansen, Jesper Frølund Hansen and Marianne Davidsen Nielsen. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
19:00 - 19:45 MINORITY STRESSES
LGBTQs experience significantly more discrimination, stigmatisation, and bullying than the rest of the population. For that reason, many
hold back from seeking help. People identifying with the LGBTQ population are used to being misunderstood, and therefore have become despondent. Some are afraid to see their doctor, even if they have a lump in the breast or testicle that needs examination, while other LGBTQs do not get the help they should, because time is spent explaining and informing about their ‘different’ lifestyle. These stigmatising experiences are also described as one with the term ‘minority stresses’. Presenter Nina Lildal-Schrøder is a psychologist, instructor and speaker. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
19:00 - 20:30 THE MANY FACES OF ORGASMS
We talk about what orgasms really are, ask all the silly questions and get some healthy, reflecting answers. What it’s like on your own, and when you’re with someone else. About what body image does to the ability to orgasm. About the loss of desire, asexual behaviour, horniness and celibacy. About different types of orgasms, and how to get them. And about sexual dependency. There will be opportunities for questions both during and after. This is a safe-space workshop, open to all LGBTQIA+ persons. Language: Danish. Venue: Vartov, Farvergade 27, 1463 Copenhagen
19:30 - 21:00 ANAL SEX 102

Then drop in for an anal sex workshop, where Michael will guide us through everything from “how to get started with anal sex”, “what is the best douching technique?” and “is lube really that important?” to “which toys can be used?”. There will be plenty of openings to ask questions, so come and learn about the exciting world of anal sex. This afternoon is open to everyone of all genders. No product recommendations in this workshop can be considered an endorsement on behalf of Copenhagen Pride by neither product nor producer. Language: Danish. HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM 14:00 - 14:45 INTERSEX CHILDREN GROW UP AS INTERSEX ADULTS – AND THEN WHAT?
I May 2017, Amnesty International published the report “First Do No Harm – Securing the rights of children with variations in gender characteristica in Denmark and Germany”. The report covered the violations of human rights that intersex children are subjected to in Denmark and Germany. However, intersex children grow up to become intersex youths and adults, and this is where we’ll focus. The debate will be based on several of the topics and challenges that an intersex youth and adult risks facing. How does it feel as a young intersex person, when none of the things taught in biology and sexual education match the workings of your own body? When your body is in the middle, where should you change and shower, and which sports team do you belong to? How do you handle discrimination? And what about love and the sex life? Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
14:00 - 14:45 MISREPRESENTATION!
About being a minority inside a minority. Conversation between Ahmad Mahmoud, the author of “Black Land”, and Mikael Aktor from Intact Denmark about standing in the crossfire between minority rights, LGBT rights and children’s rights and experiencing that religious organisations monopolise the right to define what it means to be, respectively, a Muslim and a Jew without respecting internal criticism. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
14:00 - 14:45 BEING LGBTIQ+ IN TUNISIA
Islem Mejri, activist and counsellor in Mawjoudin - We Exist - one of Tunisia’s first LGBTIQ+ organisations, and Abir Boukornine, cofounder of the organisation and project manager in LGBT Denmark will talk about the situation of LGBTIQ+ individuals in Tunisia after the Arab spring as well as the reality of queer activism in a country where being LGBTIQ+ is illegal. Language: English. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
15:00 - 15:45 GLOBAL WINS IN THE STRUGGLE FOR LGBT+ RIGHTS
In over 70 countries, it is illegal to be LGBT+. Even so, we see huge progress in many places thanks to a strong civic society fighting a tireless struggle. In this debate, we zoom in on the methods used by these civic societies. What works in different places around the world? And how is that progress felt by the LGBT+ persons that it’s all about? Language: English. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 HUMAN RIGHTS AS A TOOL
When there is a difference in access to services. When your family life is challenged by states having different views of family structures. When you cannot just host events. These are all situations, where it might be necessary to bring in help from higher-level court structures. The LGBT area has frequently been grounds for human rights instruments. LGBT Danmark and the Danish Institute for Human Rights review specific cases and consider, how these have been handled: Where have human rights been effective, and where have there been challenges? Human rights are constantly developing, and the LGBT area is one of the areas to have been anchored the latest. It is important that we continue to develop them, and that we put them into use, whenever we have to solve specific problems and develop policies. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 QUEER REPRESENTATION IN DANISH LITERATURE
In the past few years, several Danish authors have created novels with strong queer representation. At this year’s Pride we want to honour some of the authors, who have brought modern literature far more nuances about homosexuals, bisexuals and fluid sexuality into the book universe. We therefore invite you to a talk about the thoughts of
selected authors in terms of sexual representation in their work(s), and what value they see being brought to Danish literature by a broader spectre of representation. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
16:00 - 16:45 LET’S TALK ABOUT RACE!
The rainbow has many nuances, but is the scene broad and inclusive enough to make room for all types of experience? Is the LGBT scene blind to those spots, where we ourselves help recreate suppressive structures, discrimination and racism? Can we even acknowledge that even in the LGBT scene, there are racist structures; and if so, how do those look? In this debate, Sabaah charges into the difficult conversation, looks inwards and urges constructive solutions. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
16:00 - 16:45 RAINBOW FAMILIES AND SURROGATES
A political panel debate about equality within family formation, with a particular focus on rainbow families formed through the use of surrogacy. There is still differential treatment of especially homosexuals and trans persons, when it comes to forming families, which is why more and more use surrogates in Denmark and abroad. Is surrogacy exploitation of the women? Or is the exact opposite, when a woman actively chooses to give others the greatest gift? Is it even a right to have children? We can expect fierce debate about an important topic. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
16:45 - 17:00 BRUSH-UP
What are gender and norms? What are sexuality and sexual orientation? Who are covered by the abbreviation LGBTQIA+? Come and learn more about LGBTQIA+, gender, norms and sexuality, or have your knowledge refreshed in a quick and accessible format. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
17:00 - 17:45 INCLUSIVITY OR INSTITUTIONALISED DISCRIMINATION?
Are priests allowed to denying marrying same-sex couples? In section 7 (a) of the Danish Act on Membership of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark, Church Services and Parish Changes, permission is given to priests in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark to abstains from marrying and blessing same-sex couples. Is this a symbol of the Church’ alleged inclusivity, or is it in fact institutionalised discrimination? Participants: Thomas Høg Nørager (parish priest in Stefanskirken), Henrik Højlund (parish priest in Kingoskirken) and Peder Holk Svendsen (chairperson, LGBT Denmark). Language: Danish. Venue: Debate Tent on the Rainbow Square
17:00 - 17:45 STIGMAS IN THE RAINBOW SCENE: WHAT ABOUT US?!
The rainbow scene has for decades prided itself on being at the forefront of the battle against stigmatisation, hate and narrow social norms. But what is the score, if we turn to look inwards? To what degree are minorities within the minority stigmatised by the LGBT+ scene itself? We know that stigma and self-hate are vital challenges, when it comes to preventing e.g. HIV, and for that reason the struggle for inclusion is important. At this debate, we will hear from people experiencing marginalisation within the scene, and then the speaker’s floor passes to the audience. Together we will examine, how we can each take (more) responsibility for widening the fight for inclusion to ourselves and our circle. Debate arranged by AIDS-Fondet, LGBT Danmark, Sabaah and Copenhagen Pride. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
17:00 - 18:30 BODY AND BEAUTY IDEALS

18:00 - 18:45 LGBTQIA AND NORM CRITICS AT THE WORKPLACE
Many LGBTQIA persons experience their sexual observation and gender identity being either emphasised as ‘best practice’ for HR and CSR strategies, or either kept invisible and followed by harassment in an often masculine working environment. That duality makes the LGBTQIA area a tight balancing act in many organisations, and many leaders therefore sweep the topic under the carpet. As a consequence, many LGBTQIA persons do not feel that they can be open at their workplace, and therefore must carry the extra burden of constantly re-negotiating their professional relations. With this debate, we want to focus on the responsibility of workplaces, including employers and leaders, to ensure an open, diverse and inclusive working environment. But how do you do that, and how is it done best? Should companies include an LGBTQIA focus in their employee policy? Should they launch diversity and inclusivity initiatives for/with LGBTQIAs? And if so, how

FRIDAY 17/8
HUMAN RIGHTS PROGRAM 14:00 - 14:45 INTERSECTIONALITY 101
Have you also wondered what intersectionality is, can and should do? The term comes from academia, but it actually makes good sense to use it in everyday activism. Join Sabrina Vitting-Seerup, a ph.d. scholar at the University of Copenhagen in the field of representation, when she tells more about intersectionality at a level everyone can follow. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
14:00 - 14:30 QUEER CINEMA AND MEDIA IN SOUTH ASIA
Our guests Kapil Sharma and Yuvraj Parshar (filmstars and producers) will discuss why it is important to create visibility for queer and LGBT minorities through the medium of cinema. They will share their experiences behind the making of the first Indian mainstream gay love story "Dunno Y - Na jane Kyon" in early 2010. Since then they have been making several other LGBTIQ+ projects. We will also invite Waqas Aziz (activist and film festival producer) from Pakistan who is part of Aks Festival. Language: English. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
14:00 - 14:45 GUIDE TO POLY RELATIONS
What happens, when we let go the idea of monogamy being the only right way to love? How can one learn to appreciate different kinds of love, to deconstruct jealousy and to question our assumptions and expectations about romantic relations? Is a loved one always the most important relation in our lives? The two hostesses of the Fabulous Feminists podcast invite you inside a conversation room, where we’ll share our knowledge and experience about how love can be something other and more than a twosome. Language: Danish. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
14:45 - 15:45 ARE LGBTQ+ YOUTHS ADVANTAGED OR AT-RISK?
Are LGBTQ+ youths an at-risk population group, or is Denmark due to its liberal-mindedness and tolerant society a safe space to grow up as an LGBTQ+ person? AURA is a community for youths, who break the norms for gender and sexuality. These youths experience a sense of belonging, share experiences and support each other. Why do the youths not have that same opportunity in traditional communities such as the school, sports associations and after-school clubs? Language: Danish. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 YAOI (ISTANBUL)
Film project by Lotte Nielsen. YAOI (Istanbul) depicts a group of youngsters from the LGBT scene from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. It takes place under the de facto dictatorship in Turkey at a time when conditions for LGBT people in the country are greatly exacerbated. We meet Nirhan, Yunus and Hakan, who introduce us to their personal lives: their first sexual encounters, their relationship to their parents and the thoughts of suicide that several of them have had. Language: English. Venue: Brasserie Royal on the Rainbow Square
15:00 - 15:45 INCREASED EFFORTS THROUGH THE HPV VACCINE TO MSMS
It is estimated that around 80 % of sexually active persons are infected by HPV at some point during their lives. Especially men, who sleep with men (MSMs) are a group at risk, since they have an increased risk of developing anal cancer due to the HPV virus and were not previously offered a vaccination. AIDS-Fondet and the Danish Health Authority have therefore joined forces to offer a free HPV vaccine to boys between 15 and 20 years of age in a limited period of time. Come and hear more about the background for this offer, and the importance of the efforts directed at just this target group. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
16:00 - 16:45 GENDER, EQUALITY AND NORM-CRITICS IN THE WELFARE EDUCATIONS
Since 2014, students at the first semester of the bachelor’s degree in Social Education have been taught a 6-week module called ‘Gender, sexuality and diversity’. That module touches on a vast number of themes related to the professional work in social education – including gender identity, gendered and gender-divided activities, gender roles, accommodation, language, sexuality and sexual development across different age groups and difference social education specialities. We look at the understanding of normality and deviation, norm-critical social education, intersectional perspectives, heteronormativity, family forms, equality and more. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
16:00 - 16:45 THE GLOBAL FIGHT FOR LGBTI RIGHTS: HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS SHARE THEIR STORIES
Today, LGBTI rights are under pressure on a global scale. Facing discrimination, violence and legal persecution, activists all over the world are raising their voices and mobilizing to stand up and claim their human rights. For this debate, we have invited some of these activists to join us and share their stories and perspectives from their respective countries and regions. Language: English. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
17:00 - 17:45 OVERLOOKED IN THE HEALTH SECTOR
According to studies, LGBT+ persons are met by a lack of understanding several places in the health sector. Among other things, several are afraid to openly discuss their sexuality, sexual practices or gender identity with their general practitioner and other health staffers, fearing differential treatment. On the flip side, those LGBT+ persons who do speak openly of this are often met with a lack of understanding from the health personnel. We invite you to a debate about how we can create more attention about the area, and what the groups of health workers can do to better prepare for meeting LGBT+ persons. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
17:00 - 17:45 DIVERSITY ON THE SCHOOL TIMETABLE
How do we make sure that school and youth education centres support diversity? How do we ensure that LGBT+ children and youths must not go through life with a feeling of being different and being excluded? In this debate, we focus on the importance of norm-critical teaching in gender, body and sexuality in the Danish education system. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
17:00 - 17:45 BEING OUT
Being “out” as an LGBTQ person is important to many, but we are all different people with different backgrounds, and therefore the choice to “be out” can be different from each person to the next, and from each context to the next. For example, how does being religious or coming from a religious family affect how “out” you are; and is it important to be out at your workplace or between your old friends? Do LGBTQ persons have a responsibility themselves to create changes, making it easier to be out, or must society take up that responsibility? This, and much more, we will try to learn more about in this debate. Language: Danish. Venue: Vartov, Farvergade 27, 1463 Copenhagen
TUESDAY FRIDAY 17/8 8/16
17:00 - 19:00 S&M 101
An introduction to the joys and duties, pleasures and pains of sadomasochism. We want to give you a view of what SM is, how it’s lived, which precautions should be taken and what the respective roles entail. The presentation will contain a review of pain affliction with a hands-on approach, where you will have the chance to learn more about different techniques. This workshop is facilitated by Sanne and Mads and is a safe-space workshop, where all LGBTQIA+ persons are welcome to participate. Language: Danish. Venue: AIDS-Fondet, Vestergade 18E, 1456 Copenhagen
18:00 - 18:45 LGBTQIA INCLUSIVE UNIVERSITY ENVIRONMENTS
Universities are spaces of learning and socialization; they form a large part of students’ life and are central to their identity building. Universities must, therefore, create safe environments for young LGBTQIA people in Denmark. From the first promotion material through the intro week to daily teaching and student life – questions of sexuality and gender identity run through everything, and addressing such questions is, for many LGBTQIA persons, paramount to their personal well-being and success as students. With this debate, we will problematize the university environment as a (hetero)sexual space and discuss how to make this environment more LGBTQIA inclusive. Language: English. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
18:00 - 18:45 HATE CRIMES IN THE PRE-PREPARATORY SCHOOLING Crimes driven by hate to minorities is a persistent problem in Denmark. Although the problem is smaller here than in many other locations, it is still vital to prevent hate crimes. But how do we do that the best way possible? Should hate crimes be on the school timetables? Should it be part of a workplace’s continuing education offerings? Or something else entirely? AIDS-Fondet together with LGBT Denmark invite you to a debate, where you will hear new angles on a much too old problem – just like you will have your own chance to present constructive suggested solutions. Language: Danish. Venue: Hovedkassen, Copenhagen City Hall
19:00 - 19:45 DIVERSITY PARTY ODENSE – RETHINKING THE PRIDE?
Every major Danish city has a Pride Parade, except for Odense. Instead, Odense has established a Diversity Party. Come and hear a presentation from two of the driving forces behind the initiative of Diversity Party Odense. Here, you will hear the story of rethinking what diversity as a concept actually means, and the importance of thinking in diversity in a time, where Odense is facing intense urban renewal. After that, a receptive dialogue with audience input is on the cards. Language: Danish. Venue: Debate tent on the Rainbow Square
19:30 - 21:00 FETISH 101
What is a fetish? What does it mean to be a fetishist? How do you practice it? Where do you buy fetish gear? What happens at a fetish party? Can I practice a fetish without having sex? Is there a difference between straight and gay fetishism? What is the history of fetishism in Denmark? These and many more questions Sanne and Mads will try to answer during Fetish 101. The workshop is a safe-space workshop, where all LGBTQIA people are welcome to participate. Language: English. Venue: AIDS-Fondet, Vestergade 18E, 1456 Copenhagen

10:00 - 10:30 A DRAG QUEEN READS ALOUD FOR CHILDREN
In the name of Pride and diversity, a drag queen will read for children (ages approx. 3-6 years) at Copenhagen’s Central Library – both because reading is super important for that age group in order to develop language and fantasy, but also because it’s helpful for the kids to meet people that look ‘different’. Studies have shown, that such an experience helps make children more tolerant in later life. The event is mainly targeted at children and families, but anyone else is also welcome. The event will run for about half an hour, and the books that are read from will concern rainbow families and gender identity. Language: Danish. 16:00 - 18:00 LGBT+, WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND EQUALITY
In 2016, Akademikerne (Epinion) carried out a study of the labour market and the working environment for LGBT+ persons. The results were discouraging and showed that only a little less than one-third of those questioned considered it relevant to contact their trade union representatives in case of discrimination and exclusion. Considering this knowledge, and not least keeping in mind the new LGBTI action plan by the Danish Government, the Danish Association of Masters and PhDs (DM) calls a debate salon on this topic: What can labour unions do to improve the working environment for LGBT+ persons? Based on the debate salon, DM will join with participants from the various scenes and launch an effort to phrase a particular focus on the working environment for LGBT+ persons. Come and help give voice to those challenges and, not least, give hope to the solutions. Sign-up through dm.dk; participation is free. Language: Danish. Peter Bangs Vej 30, 2000 Frederiksberg
