Picture the Music Picture the Music | Anders Rye Skjoldjensen , Asger Ladefoged, Janus Engel, Karina Tengberg, Kasper Løftgaard, Morten Nordstrøm, Nat Urazmetova, Rasmus Kongsgaard, Sara Gangsted, Simon Fals, Simon Læssøe. Jonathan Forster, Oliver Klitgaard Larsen Copenhagen Photo Festival har i 2014, 15 og 16 inviteret Danmark til at fotografere musikken – dens følelser, stemninger, minder og oplevelser. I år er 44 billeder valgt til udstillingen blandt ca. 2.700 indsendte. Kuratorgruppen består af Lucy Love, musiker og billedkunstner; Thomas Borberg, Politikens fotochef; og Rasmus Ranum, medstifter af CPF og indehaver af fotoagenturet SumoBrothers. ”Når man gennemgår de mange indsendte billeder, kan man ikke undgå at blive berørt af, hvor stærk en samlende kraft musikken er for os mennesker, og hvor følelsesladet mødet med livemusikken kan være,” fortæller Rasmus Ranum. Udstillingens treårsjubilæum fejres med udgivelsen af en stor musikfotobog med et udvalg af alle de indsendte billeder. Ragnarock – museet for pop, rock og ungdomskultur – har bidraget med forord og sørget for, at Jan Sneum, Torben Sangild og Lucia Odoom har bidraget med essays om musikkens væsen. Vandreudstillingen rejser landet rundt i 2016-17.
In 2014, 15 and 16, Copenhagen Photo Festival has invited Denmark to ‘Picture the Music’ – its emotions, atmospheres, memories and experiences. In 2016, 44 pictures have been selected for the exhibition. The curators are Lucy Love, musician and visual artist; Thomas Borberg, head of photography at Politiken; and Rasmus Ranum, co-founder of CPF and owner of the photo agency Sumo-Brothers. “When you go through the many submitted pictures, you cannot avoid becoming touched by how strong a unifying power music is to us people, and how emotional the meeting with live music can be,” says Rasmus Ranum. A selection of pictures from all three years, are published in a big music photography book. Ragnarock – the museum of pop, rock and youth culture – has contributed a foreword and made it possible to have Jan Sneum, Torben Sangild and Lucia Odoom contribute essays about the nature of music. The travelling exhibition will cross the rest of the country in 2016-17. ‘Picture the Music’ is supported by Nordea-fonden.
