Ezekiel

War

Looms

By Christine Darg Imagine God supernaturally intervening in the mess of current events! If you are longing to see the Almighty demonstrate who he is to an unbelieving, hedonistic, jaded, secular, Godrejecting, world, then get ready! That is exactly what is about to happen! As the map on this page from the 1700s shows, in the north, a land called “Magog,” encompassing modern-day Russia, is prophesied to invade Israel with other hostile nations-- after the Jewish people have been regathered in the Last Days, according to Ezekiel 38:2. Divine intervention will bring Israel back to God and cause his name to be sanctified in the nations. The world hasn’t experienced great signs and wonders like we are about to see since the Exodus under Moses. The earth-shaking signs of the upcoming Ezekiel War--a mighty earthquake, fire, brimstone--are described in the prophecies of Ezekiel 38 and 39. It cannot be long before God shows himself strong and proves just who IS the real God, versus the god of secularism and the false god of jihad.

Horizon

In the Six Day War of June 1967, tiny Israel miraculously defeated overwhelming odds, yet biblically illiterate people couldn’t necessarily see or discern events as a direct intervention of God Almighty. That war almost a generation ago appeared to have been won by a young and burgeoning nation in the power of their own strength. The War of Independence in 1948 was equally miraculous, but secular people viewed Israel’s victory as “karma--” the Jews deserved a land after the horrors of the Holocaust. However, the coming prophesied Ezekiel War will be unmistakenly miraculous when the nation of Israel is delivered from an overpowering gang of rebels and enemies. This time, the signs and wonders predicted in the Bible will astound the whole world, and not just the Jews. Many people will honor the God of Israel! Presently hated and despised by so many nations, Israel will be saved from destruction by Israel’s God Himself. In fact, Ezekiel 38 and 39 contain some of the clearest, easy to comprehend chapters in the Bible and read like tomorrow’s newspaper. But even among the Jewish people,

the topic of the Ezekiel War is not generally known, although many Orthodox rabbis do believe current conditions are ripe for an imminent fulfillment. In the preceding chapters, Ezekiel 36 and 37, God decreed that his people Israel would be expelled into all nations as a judgment for their unbelief and disobedience, and that their bones would be scattered in cemeteries throughout the world. Their dispersal profaned his name because, as wanderers and nomads, they contradicted the fact that God is a covenant-keeping God who had vowed to settle the Hebrews in their own Land, the Land of Israel. It was because of their sin that they had to be scattered and punished. But, being a faithful, covenant-keeper, God said in a parable in Ezekiel 37 that he would surely open their graves and resurrect their dry bones, and that they would be revived to live again in their own land as a great army. Friends, it HAS happened! This End-Time regathering of the Jews was not fulfilled in the Babylonian captivity, which lasted only 70 years. Rather, Ezekiel prophesied the regathering would occur at the end of time, in the latter days, after the Jews had returned from all nations. The scenario of the Ezekiel War applies to our generation because it’s a fact that Israelis have returned to the Land of Israel in the past 100 years from ALL the nations. What we see in Israel’s population today is a melting pot caused by a worldwide regathering of the “dry bones.” And secondly, contemporaneously, the countries that will invade and that will be defeated upon the mountains of Israel are named and are presently, auspiciously, in perfect alignment. Furthermore, Ezekiel 38: 11, 14 specify that the invasion will happen when Israel is a “peaceful people,” meaning those who truly desire peace versus the Arabs who continually stir up war. And it will be when they are dwelling securely in

unwalled villages. Israel’s kibbutzim, moshav communities and cities are not encircled by high stone walls, as were the ancient Biblical cities. Even with the present security wall in some areas, this prophecy of unwalled villages still stands as fulfilled. The long security wall per se is a unique barrier, but the actual towns are not walled, just as the prophecy specifies. Israel’s “Iron Dome” is a mobile all-weather air defense system providing an invisible wall, something the prophet Ezekiel couldn’t see in a futuristic vision. The Ezekiel 38 War will be spectacular! This time it will seem impossible for Israel to beat off such overwhelming odds of Magog (Russia), Persia (Iran) and “many nations” with them, but the God of Israel, whom Scripture calls a “Man of War,” (Isaiah 42:13) will intervene and prove who God really is. As a result, he declares that all the world will know the God of Israel IS God and that all other pretenders are impostors. The future scenario will be like a scene in Cecil B. DeMille’s epic movie “The Ten Commandments.” When Pharoah, the ruler of Egypt, realizes that he has been thoroughly defeated after the drowning of his entire army at the Red Sea, he finally humbles himself and acknowledges that Moses’ “God IS God!” The coming victory of the Ezekiel War will be even greater than the showdown between the prophet Elijah and the prophets of Baal that was staged on Mt. Carmel. When the invading nations fall upon the same mountains of Israel and are soundly defeated, God declares, “Then they will know that I am the LORD.” (Ezekiel 39:6)

Why Don!t Christians There’s a new tactic in the war of words over Israel. Comparing Israel to the segregation formerly practiced in South Africa is a clever word-play by Israel’s enemies. But the reality is that Israeli Arab citizens are entitled to vote, can serve in the army, eat in restaurants along side Jews. Locals and tourists rub shoulders and work together every day. Unfortunately, there’s an apartheid mentality in many churches that seek to separate us from our Jewish older brothers, our benefactors in the faith. Tragically, throughout the centuries the gap between the two Peoples of the Book grew wider. But with jihadists vowing, “First we’ll murder the Saturday people, then the Sunday people,” Jews and Christians are realizing we need one another more than ever! After all, we serve the same God who is different from the pagan god of Islam. Many Jewish individuals and rabbis are now willing to concede that when Jesus returns, they’ll enquire if this is his first or second coming! Jesus prophesied that the government of Jerusalem will be in Jewish hands at the time of his Second Advent. So, it will be spiritually dangerous if the Gentile members of the Church don’t understand Jewish destiny as outlined in the Bible. God is not finished with the Jewish people. In fact, The Book of Revelation prophesies that 144,000 Jewish evangelists will preach in the Last Days, and we’ll all sing the song of Moses as the Lord’s purposes triumph. Christians unaware of these Bible truths will be confused, misguided and deceived; they may follow deceptive voices in league with the spirit of Islam. But Jewish re-appearance in the Holy Land substantiates the validity of the Bible! At a time when Palestinians are erroneously claiming that Jesus, the King of the Jews, was a Palestinian, a prominent Israeli professor is reclaiming Jesus and even the New Testament. Professor Eyal Regev, head of the Archaeology Department at Bar-Ilan University, has written publicly that most Jews might not believe the New Testament or Jesus’ claims of messiahship, but nevertheless it is now indisputable fact among most Jews that the movement which became Christianity was originally Jewish to the core. Professor Regev called the New Testament “Jewish compositions.” He noted that the Gospels, the Epistles of Paul, and the other Jewish letters in the New Testament all contain many quotes from the Torah, as well as sermons peppered with “the spirit of Second Temple Judaism.” Very importantly, the professor noted that it was not the original intent of the followers of Jesus to break from Judaism to form a separate, competing religion. People who accept the authority of the Bible know that the title deed of Jerusalem is clearly spelled out in holy Scripture. In Ezekiel 5:5, God says, “This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the middle of the nations

was about 50,000. By 1948, it had doubled. But it was not until the reunification of Jerusalem 47 year ago, that the city truly began to flourish. No longer shackled by oppressive Jordanian rule over its eastern half, Israel’s regained capital could thrive and develop. Today Jerusalem is home to over 800,000 people. In Jeremiah 3:17, the prophet gives us a very important prophecy: “At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto the name of the LORD, in Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.” So this end-time prophecy of Jeremiah’s increases our knowledge of the plan of God concerning Jerusalem. This city will contain a throne, and all nations will be gathered to God’s throne “in the midst of the nations,” for indeed Jerusalem is positioned on a land bridge strategically between the continents of Africa, Europe and Asia. In fact, ancient maps show Jerusalem like the center of a flower with the continents resembling petals. No future date is given for the worship of all nations at the Lord’s throne, but the Bible teaches that the exaltation of Jerusalem will occur in the Last Days when the Jewish people have returned. The hatred of Israel is rebellion against God because Israel directly represents God on earth as his chosen people according to covenants that the Lord made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In the past, Muslims generally treated the Jews more fairly than the “Christians,” but the Jews’ recent return has triggered Muslim resentment and Islamic hegemony. Nevertheless, the Lord has determined to regather and bless them in this generation of restoration. In fact, Jesus prophesied the timeline of the Jews in one verse in Luke 21: 24: “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” Yes, Jesus foresaw the terrible tragedy that would befall his people, but He also foresaw their final regathering and the fact that Jerusalem would be restored to Jewish sovereignty at the time of the fullness of the Gentiles. But according to Zechariah Chapter 12, a final siege against Jerusalem is yet to happen. The next assault against Jerusalem by meddling nations will result in the intervention and return of the Messiah to save his people, and Israel will finally acknowledge Him! A great outpouring of the Holy Spirit is coming upon Jerusalem. Why don’t more Christians rejoice?

Family News For Your Prayers

Thanks for continuing to pray for our son David. Recently he helped traumatized schoolchildren in Boko Haram areas in Nigeria, and then shone a harsh spotlight on human trafficking and the horror of sexual slavery in Brazil at the World Cup. David and Operational Blessing International (OBI) produced literature and a 22minute documentary, “1 REAL: The other side of the coin.” One Brazilian Real is worth about 50 cents, and is the tragic answer that a child gave when asked what she was paid to perform a “sexual service.” The World Cup is one of the biggest sporting events on the planet, but unfortunately, it also is a huge magnet for sex trafficking, often targeting vulnerable children. The OBI documentary cites a government report that some 40,000 youths

disappear annually in Brazil, with roughly 15% of these cases unsolved. David, who is vice president of international operations, said in a press release, “Operation Blessing is focused on the 6,000 children each year who are never found; many are known to have been abducted for the trafficking industry.” Posters and booklets are featured in the photos on this page. A trailer for the important documentary can be viewed at http://videos.ob.org/1315

We!re at the Center of the Battle of the Ages: What Is Truth? By Christine Darg We don’t agree with all the policies of Israel, but it is vitally important that we stand for Israel’s right to exist. The Lord came to earth born as a sabra, that’s a modern Hebrew word meaning a native-born Jew here in the Land of Israel. He came to accomplish the work of salvation, first for the Jewish people and then also to reach all the Gentile nations, beginning from Jerusalem. In his foreknowledge, God knew the Jewish people would reject Messiah on the Lord’s first trip to planet earth …. but not on his return trip, which we anticipate very soon. But first the Gospel should be preached to all nations, and in so doing, Jewish apostles were scattered as light to the four corners of the earth. The Apostle Thomas went to preach the Gospel in India. St. Mark went to Egypt. Phillip and Bartholomew went to Syria and Greece. Peter went to Rome, and so forth. But now, fast forward nearly 2000 years later, and the time of world domination by Gentile nations is almost at an end. True to his word, the Lord has been regathering the Jewish people to the promised land, demonstrating his faithfulness and forgiveness. This restoration is happening right before our eyes, yet so few perceive the times and what is unfolding. God says in his Word, “The Holy Land is my land, given to my people. I will supernaturally save my people from all the nations who rise up against Israel. I will bless those who bless Israel, and I will curse nations and individuals who curse Israel.” God also says, “I will bless Israel, not because Israel deserves blessings, but in order to vindicate my holy name, and because they are my covenant people, and they represent Me.” Increasingly, there will be animosity and war against Israel, but when the nations see the Lord’s sovereign power upon his people, delivering Israel from destruction, the nations also will turn to the God of Israel. It will become increasingly obvious that the Lord dwells among regathered

Israel. After a time of apostasy and judgment to prove hearts and nations, the Lord Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives and during the thousand-year rule of Jesus from Jerusalem, He will receive both the Jewish and Gentile peoples to honour his name and to worship the King. Many believers prophetically are already in dress rehearsal for this -- certainly every time we visit Israel during the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall we are preparing for the Second Coming and for Messiah’s reign. Tabernacles is the Levitical Feast outlined in the Bible that predicts all nations will come up to Zion to worship King Messiah. When we worship Him now, we’re saying prophetically: “Praise awaits you, O Lord, in Zion, your city!” Like never before, pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Israel. Help them, shelter them, love, comfort and protect them. Sinister forces are trying desperately to deceive the world, to turn against the Jews and Israel. Anti-Semitism will continue to rise, but don’t swallow the antiSemitic lie! Stand firm in the Lord, for he loves his church, his bride, and he also loves eternally his people Israel from whom salvation sprang. It was through the Jewish people that you were saved, if you’re a follower of the Jewish Messiah. Meanwhile, Christians who divest themselves from Israel and who boycott Israeli products have been deceived, according to the Bible! Soon nations will pay tribute to Messiah in Jerusalem, and Israel will become the chief of nations, no longer despised and rejected at the bottom of the heap, but Israel will be on top, the head of all nations and not the tail. Therefore, knowing what is unfolding in Israel is not about politics. It’s about the battle of the ages and the Second Coming! Ultimately, it’s all about the God of the Bible and “What is truth?” as revealed in this Bible.
