ABOUT US

Since 1925

Welcome to Concordia Advanced Fabrics & Apparel, experts in technical woven and knitted textiles. Since 1925, Concordia Textiles Group has led the industry with deep expertise in textile manufacturing, enabling us to support our customers with any challenge or inquiry.

Our Expertise

We believe that our knitwear department is not just about clothing. Our expertise lies in transforming yarn into fashion products, blending traditional techniques with avantgarde designs.

Our Unique Network

Our operations span across the globe, with a unique network of specialists and partner factories in China and Bangladesh. This strategic positioning allows us to leverage local knowledge and skills, ensuring that every piece we produce meets the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

Our Legacy

Concordia’s legacy is built on four pillars: partnership, respect, passion an entrepreneurship. These values guide our work, helping us turn our clients' creative visions into reality through strong collaboration.

OUR KNITWEAR SOLUTION

Each season, our European designers introduce a fresh knit collection that reflects the latest trends. Meanwhile, our committed product manager supports you throughout the entire process: from initial design concepts, through prototyping, creating sales samples, fitting and size sets, pre-production pieces, to the production of high-quality garments.

The Jacquard knit technique is widely used to create multi-colored patterns by knitting stitches with different colored yarns. It allows for complex designs such as florals, geometric shapes, and abstract motifs, making it popular for sweaters and cardigans.

The Intersia knitting technique is a method for creating large blocks of colors without carrying the yarns accross the back. It allows for separate blocks of color to be integrated seamlessly, making it ideal for bold designs such as graphic motifs, logos, and complex pictorial designs.

CABLES & POINTELLE STITCH

The Cable knitting technique is commonly used to create textured, three-dimensional patterns that add visual appeal. This method involves crossing stitches to form twisted, rope-like designs. The interlocking twists and braids create dynamic patterns that make each piece distinctive, perfect for adding structure and timeless style to knitwear collections.

The Multistripes knitting technique enables you to create colorful garments featuring multiple horizontal stripes and indifferent widths. Multistripes are ideal for adding bold, graphic elements or subtle color variations. This results in a fresh and dynamic aesthetic, making the garments suitable for both casual and statement looks.

The Seamless knitting technique is perfect for producing garments without any visible seams, enhancing both comfort and fit. This method involves knitting an entire piece in one continuous process, often using circular or advanced flatbed knitting machines. It allows for greater flexibility and reduces irritation from bulky seams. The result is a wellfitting garment that offers improved movement and a polished, modern look, making it ideal for high-quality, activewear and fashion knitwear.

EMBROIDERY

Embroidery is an ancient technique for embellishing garments with needle and thread. The designs are created using different types of stitches that add texture and patterns. Today, it is still popular in fashion, adding a unique touch to each piece.

CARDIGAN STITCH

The Cardigan Stitch creates a textured, voluminous knit with excellent stretch and comfort. There are two types: the Half Cardigan Stitch, which alternates knit and purl rows, creating a distinct ribbed effect with a soft, cushioned feel. This stitch provides a cozy and relaxed look perfect for casual, comfortable garments. The Full Cardigan Stitch, or Polka Rib, is similar but reversable and usually knitted in a coarser gauge for added warmth.

MILANO STITCH

The Milano Stitch is perfect to create a smooth, compact knit with excellent durability and structure. This stitch pattern, a combination of knit and purl rows, produces a compact texture that resists stretching and maintains its shape well. It provides a clean and refined look and ensures that knitwear retains a sharp, tailored appearance while remaining comfortable to wear.

FUNCTIONAL KNIT/WOVEN

Combining knit and woven fabrics in fashion design requires a deep understanding of both materials and techniques to create a functional design. Each fabric type has distinct properties: knit offers flexibility and stretch, while woven provides structure and durability.

When integrated effectively, these fabrics enhance both functionality and aesthetics, resulting in versatile and visually striking garments. With these hybrid styles, the contrast in texture and color adds depth and interest to the design. However, achieving a seamless blend requires technical expertise and careful construction to ensure a refined and cohesive final product.

SUSTAINABILITY & COMPLIANCE

Sustainability and certifications play a crucial role in todays fashion industry, ensuring that both the production process and the final garments have minimal environmental impact. As consumers and brands seek more responsible choices, certified sustainable practices guarantee ethical sourcing, reduced waste, and lower carbon footprints.

► Lab testing

Durable products are essential for both consumers and brands, ensuring long-lasting wear, reduced environmental impact, and better value. Our in-house lab performs diverse tests to guarantee the durability, performance and quality of our fabrics.

► Pilling test

► Color fastness - rubbing

► Color fastness - washing

► Washing test

► Wearing test

Flat knits are mainly made from natural, noble fibres, which makes wearing tests essential. To ensure our garments meet high standards for quality, durability, comfort, and pilling resistance, we conduct real-life wear tests. One person wears the garment for 3 days, followed by a wash according to the care label. Then a second person wears it for another 3 days, after which it’s washed again.

Material & Quality: Both knit and woven garments are tested for durability, softness, and resilience through repeated wear, washing, and exposure to elements like sunlight and humidity. Pilling from body friction is also monitored.

► ►

Fit & Comfort: Garments are worn in daily conditions to assess how they move, feel, and adapt to different body types.

Longevity: Items are checked over time for changes in color, shape, and fabric texture to ensure they retain their appearance after use and washing.

► BSCI - Company certification

Our knitwear factory is BSCI certified. This certification is recognized globally and demonstrates a company's commitment to responsible sourcing and ethical business practices. It helps companies ensure that their supply chains meet internationally recognized social standards and supports the protection of workers' rights and welfare.

► LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose - Product certification

We offer LENZING™ ECOVERO™ viscose products. These fibers are certified for biodegradability and compostability in various environments. In combination with compatible blending partners, dyes and finishes, LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers contribute to the biodegradability of textile products.

► BCI - Product certification

We offer BCI certified products. BCI aims to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in, and better for the sector's future. The BCI certification is awarded to cotton producers who adhere to BCI's sustainability standards and principles.

► Recycled PES

Recycled PES (Polyester) is an eco-friendly solution made from recycled plastic waste, offering the same durability as virgin polyester while reducing landfill waste and conserving resources.
