SEK-Catalunya, SEK-Ciudalcampo and SEK-El Castillo receive the New England Association of Schools accreditation
El proceso de acreditación con la New England Association of Schools (NEASC), que SEK-Catalunya, SEK-Ciudalcampo y SEK-El Castillo iniciaron durante el año escolar 2018-19, ha alcanzado su consolidación en el presente curso. Después de una serie de visitas a los colegios, los tres centros ya tiene implementado este nuevo sistema de calidad bajo los parámetros de esta prestigiosa asociación que agrupa a los mejores colegios internacionales del mundo.
The New England Association of Schools (NEASC) accreditation process, which SEK-Catalunya, SEKCiudalcampo and SEK-El Castillo began during the 2018-19 school year, has reached its conclusion this academic year. Following a series of visits, the three schools are already implementing the new quality standard provided by this prestigious association that brings together the best international schools in the world.
NEASC, con sus protocolos de calidad ACE, pretende fomentar una educación para el siglo XXI centrada en habilidades, competencias y disposiciones que los estudiantes necesitan en la actualidad. También promueve un aprendizaje cada vez más autodirigido, que fomente las ideas propias de los alumnos, las conexiones con los demás y el uso de un proceso para el desarrollo y la toma de decisiones, a la vez que se estimula la reflexión sobre el aprendizaje en relación con los resultados deseados y el autoconocimiento.
NEASC, with its ACE quality standards, aims to foster a 21st century education focused on the skills, competencies and qualities that students currently need for success. It also promotes increasingly self-directed learning, encouraging students’ own ideas, their connections with others and fostering autonomous decision-making, while stimulating reflection on learning and self-awareness.
Además de avalar la calidad de los procesos educativos y organizativos del colegio, la acreditación NEASC aporta otro importante beneficio para los alumnos. A partir de ahora, todos los estudiantes de Bachillerato, tanto del Programa Nacional como del Diploma Programme, obtendrán también el US High School Diploma, un complemento muy atractivo para optar a las universidades de EEUU y de otros países donde el diploma americano es un requisito de acceso. ■

In addition to endorsing the quality of the educational and organisational processes of the school, the NEASC accreditation provides another important benefit for the students. From now on, all Baccalaureate students, both on the Spanish Bachillerato programme and the IB Diploma Programme, will also obtain the US High School Diploma, something that is very sought after by universities in the US and other countries where the American diploma is an access requirement. ■
