Parent Support

Swim team is a program for children, but parent support and participation play an important role in running each of the swim meets and promoting team spirit. Each swim team family is required to volunteer their time at a minimum of two meets each season (Little Shark families are not required to volunteer). Parents are needed to help organize and officiate swim meets. Each meet requires a referee, timers, starters, announcers, stroke and turn judges and a clerk. Volunteer responsibilities for each role are outlined on the Swim Team page.

TEAM UNIFY

Swim team registration is only available online via TeamUnify. This link can be found on the Swim Team page under the Swim tab.

FIRST TIME USERS

Create a username and password to complete your registration. Your account must be verified by a swim coach before you can log in. Once your account has been verified, you will be required to volunteer. Swimmers will not be registered for the team until parents have signed up to volunteer at a minimum of two swim meets.

RETURN USERS

Log in to TeamUnify using the username and password you created last season. Swimmers will not be registered for the team until parents have signed up to volunteer at two swim meets.

Columbia’s Little Shark program is for swimmers who are new to the sport. Little Sharks will learn basic water safety, from blowing bubbles and learning how to float, to proper form in both freestyle and backstroke. Columbia’s swim coaches will prepare each Little Shark with the confidence they need to graduate to the swim team. The swimmer to coach ratio will be 5-1 to provide a more individualized lesson. TENNIS

Our tennis professionals are looking forward to working with Columbia’s juniors on the courts this summer. Instruction and organized programs are instrumental in the long-term development of outstanding players. We hustle on the court but never overlook the social element or the chance to lighten things up. We’ve created special tennis events that will provide our juniors with a better understanding of the game and the opportunity to appreciate tennis as the sport of a lifetime. Children age 7 to 18 are eligible to participate in the junior tennis program.

White tennis attire is required to play on the courts at all times (minimal color trim is acceptable). Tennis shoes, headwear and accessories may be of any color. Non-white outerwear (tennis appropriate warm-up attire) is permitted.

The most important tradition for Columbia’s summer junior tennis program is the Team Tennis experience. Juniors age 10 and up are eligible to play - players should be able to serve consistently, keep score and know rules of play. Weekly activities include three practices, a match and a team event.
