Colorado Gives Day is the biggest 24-hour giving movement in the state of Colorado. The actual event day is scheduled for December 5, but early giving opens on November 1. Created and managed by the Community First Foundation, Colorado Gives Day was launched in 2010 to encourage charitable giving from donors who want to make an impact in their local community. Besides the donations going directly to support the designated nonprofits of the giver’s choice through its incentive fund, Community First Foundation, First Bank allots a portion of the total contributions collected to each participating

According to the website (https://www.chamberofcommerce.org/nonprofit/colorado), “the state of Colorado has approximately 23,148 nonprofit organizations: 18,166 of those are public charities, 1,020 are private, and public foundations and 3,962 of those are 501(c) nonprofit Colorado organizations.” The Colorado Gives Foundation holds a special affinity for Jefferson County with grant-making, but its vision extends statewide. The organization is committed to elevating donors and nonprofits across Colorado through
both Colorado Gives Day and Colorado Gives 365, a new platform introduced in 2022. Colorado Give 365 is changing the way people give by connecting donors with nonprofits that are near and dear to their hearts for all types of giving not only on Colorado Gives Day; but also, every day, year-round.
