owed suddenly when her husband died in a farm accident. He left no will. Their home, vehicle, and two bank accounts were in his name only. She had enough money and insurance to pay the most pressing bills but had no idea what to do going forward. At the Elbert County Free Legal Clinic, volunteer attorneys explained how the probate process

works, helped the widow find and fill out the right court forms, and showed her how to file them with the court. Within two weeks, she was able to get everything into her name and access the bank accounts.
