Curbs and gutters approved March 29 for some of Tilden Contributed information

Tilden – McMullen commissioners met Tuesday, March 29, at 9 a.m. in the county courthouse in Tilden to present and approve bills. Honorable Judge Jim Teal presided. The county’s four commissioners reported on activity in their particular precinct. Alan Brown, County Water Control and Improvement District 1, provided an update on the progress of water and sewer works in Calliham. The court was also updated about potential action on streets and drainage in Tilden. Sheriff Emmett “Bubba Shelton reported some smuggling traffic and theft in the outlying hunting camps. He said hunters should lock up their cabins and take their firearms with them to prevent theft. Judge Teal introduced consultants Richard “Hud and Janis Hudson to the court. He pointed out the historical work the Hudsons were doing with the County Historical Commission and how it would positively and financially impact Tilden and the county. The McMullen County Commissioners Court meets the last two Tuesdays of each month.
