HALL,Los Angeles (AP)--Senator John F. Kennedy

was nominated on the first ballot early this morning as the

president of the United States. Balloting

started at 10:09 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time (1:09 a.m. Puerto Rico time). After Wyoming

voted, Kennedy had 765 votes. He needed 761.

Sen. Hubert Humphrey, (D. Minn. ) rose at that point and moved that the homination be made unanimous. Puerto Rico east its seven votes for

and the Virgin Islands did like-

21 votes.

Symington’s

Missouri, then changed its vote to Kennedy. Then the vote to make it unanimous was taken
