Coastline Supports the Community at the Taree/ Wingham Charity Golf Day

In October, Coastline proudly sponsored a hole at the Harvey Norman Taree/Wingham Charity Golf Day, supporting the vital work of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated Taree branch team members, Kaylee and Ashleigh, who volunteered to ensure the event ran smoothly.

The day was a wonderful success, bringing the community together for a great cause, and we’re proud to have played a part. Events like this highlight the importance of supporting local services that provide life-saving assistance. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day special! Together, we’re making a positive impact in our community while enjoying some fun on the golf course.

Bank impersonation scams robbing aussies of their life savings

Australians are losing their life savings to sophisticated bank impersonation scams. Scammers use advanced technology to make calls and texts appear as though they are coming from legitimate bank numbers. In 2022 alone, Scamwatch received 14,603 reports, with over $20 million lost. Some victims have lost amounts ranging from $40,000 to $800,000,

causing significant emotional and financial devastation. The scammers often create urgency, claiming fraudulent activity or frozen accounts. Authorities advise never transferring money or giving personal banking details in response to such calls or texts. Instead, contact your bank directly using a trusted number. Consumers are encouraged to report scams to Scamwatch and stay vigilant to protect themselves.

ARTIST

ROGER GIFKINS FEATURING AT THE KEMPSEY ART HUB THIS NOVEMBER!

Roger’s passion for astronomy began early, growing up in a family of scientists. He studied physics at the University of Melbourne and UNE, and built his own 8-inch telescope, using it for over 40 years. After retiring, he turned to astrophotography, using a smaller telescope housed in an old shipping container.

“I love photographing distant galaxies and nebulae in our Milky Way, with occasional solar system shots,” he says.

Roger’s astrophotography has earned accolades, including “Image of the Day” on an international website and a win in the solar system category at the Tamworth Regional Gallery competition.
