A Letter
From the Chief Executive Officer The Children’s Museum of Memphis has experienced dramatic growth over the past years. We believe that this is due in part to our efforts to be better stewards of our finances and increase the value of our facilities for our members and guests. At CMOM, we are continually looking to improve our services in terms of quality and cost. Many visitors say that every time they visit, they see something new. We like that to always be true, because that means you will keep coming back to see us. Over the past year, we have made some major changes to our exhibit areas and are currently in the process of making some more. In just a few short months, we will begin construction on the home for our Memphis Grand Carousel and the new Banquet Hall! As you can see, change is constant around here. One of the next changes you will see is a way we are attempting to keep up with the busy lifestyles of today. We have noticed that the majority of our visitors prefer to view our newsletters on their mobile devices instead of in the magazine style form that is currently available on our website. In order to better serve you, this will be our final magazine issue of Sparks. After today, we will begin our transition into a “mobile friendly” e-newsletter. We hope that this transition will help to keep you, our visitors, informed of all of our programs and events at the museum and it will be a more user-friendly method of telling our story. Please remember that our website is a great source for information about CMOM. It will also be getting a new modern look soon! Look for these improvements and more in the future months. We are looking forward to being of service to you and your family.

Jammies and Jingles Breakfast Saturday, December 12 9:30-10:30am

ingle all the way to CMOM in your coziest Christmas PJ's for a festive morning filled with family fun and holiday memories. Start your day with a yummy pancake breakfast before posing for pictures with Santa. Will you get your face painted with a red nose like Rudolph or maybe with sparkles like an elf? The choice is up to you! You can even make a special winter time craft while watching a holiday movie. Don't miss the "cutest jammies" contest at 10:15. Five winners will receive a Village Toymaker gift certificate and a CMOM Family membership. Every child attending receives a special holiday plush SpongeBob to take home. Members are $12 and non-members are $17. Museum admission is not included in the ticket price. Event tickets must be purchased in advance at CMOM.COM or by phone at (901) 458-2678, ext. 221.
To Infinity and Beyond! New Years at Noon Thursday, December 31 10am-1pm We’re all ABUZZ at CMOM and we’re blasting into 2016 with everyone’s favorite astronaut and his sidekicks. Wear your favorite costume from one of the movies and you might be one of 5 lucky winners to receive a CMOM family membership and a special prize! Before the clock ticks down to noon, there’ll be photos with the characters, themed crafts, a scavenger hunt, face painting and balloon art! But that’s not all! After the goodie toss and balloon drop at noon, the dance party begins! Admission is free for members and $15 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the door and include museum admission. 4
Winter Fantasy Tea Saturday, January 23 11am-12pm & 1-2pm It’s FROZEN at CMOM during our WINTER FANTASY TEA! Get out of the cold and “let it go” as you sip on tea and nibble on gourmet pastries fit for a princess. Be sure to sing along with everyone’s favorite Ice Princess when she performs. Bring your autograph books and pose for a keepsake photo. Make a crown of jewels that shines and get a fancy glitter tattoo. Costumes and formal dresses are encouraged, kissing frogs is optional! Gifts of Hope for Children
he season of giving is the perfect time to teach your child the meaning of charity. The Children’s Museum of Memphis and The Family Safety Center has created the perfect opportunity to share this meaningful unselfish life lesson with your child. We are partnering together to present a Christmas Wish Drive providing hope for victims and healing for children and families impacted by domestic violence in the Memphis community. Their wish lists include all sizes of gently used children’s clothing and toiletries for housing transitions such as tissue, liquid hand soap, bar soap, diapers, baby wipes, etc. There will be giving boxes in the museum lobby for donations beginning November 9. So as you plan a visit this holiday season, we encourage you to use this opportunity to teach your children about helping others less fortunate than them and make a donation to Gifts of Hope for Children. 5

The Second Annual Cirque du CMOM Tennis Tournament! Ladies hit the courts they supported a cause near and dear to their hearts, CMOM! With more than 48 participants, the second year was a great success. All players went home with t-shirts and goodie bags while the winners received special trophies. Thank you to all of the sponsors and players!

2015 CMOM Golf Scramble! On October 30, golfers teed up to support their favorite cause, CMOM! With International Paper leading the way as Title Sponsor, many local businesses chipped in! Around 76 golfers came out on a beautiful day to help raise more than $45,000 for our educational programs and exhibits. Golf committee members Matt Wilson, Chuck Hamlett, Ron Kastner, Britt Daniel, Jacob Biddle and Keith Townsend worked to ensure a fantastic event. Football Parking Supports CMOM!
The Children's Museum of Memphis will close early at 4pm on Saturday, November 7, due to the 6pm scheduled football game between the University of Memphis and Navy. The museum is extremely proud of the success of the University of Memphis. Unfortunately, with that success, comes extremely heavy traffic in our area, and entrance or exit from the museum is nearly impossible. For the comfort and safety of our visitors, the museum has no choice but to close early, but will re-open on Sunday, November 8, 9am-5pm. Please expect heavy delays and use caution when traveling anywhere near the stadium that day. 2015 Tiger Football Schedule November 7, 7pm - Navy (CMOM will close at 4pm due to heavy traffic.) November 28, TBA - SMU January 2, 2:20pm - Liberty Bowl (CMOM will be closed due to heavy traffic.)

Pet Vet Winter Day Camp
December 28 – January 1 Pets are cute, cuddly, and often the perfect companion for kids, but sometimes the care for them can be a bit challenging. Pet Vet Day Camp is here to the rescue. This camp helps children learn to care for pets properly. Local animal rescue shelters and veterinarians engage campers in fun activities that encourage responsible pet ownership, proper animal care and handling techniques. This camp is not just for those who have pets, but for those who may be considering a pet or who just want to have fun with animals as well!
Perfect Shot Photography Spring Camp
March 21-25 Imaginations run wild as campers work with cameras to achieve the “perfect shot.” Life is seen from a different perspective as children learn how to “fill the frame” with simple objects all around them.
