Girl's Night Out! Friday, May 8 6-9pm

t’s Girl’s Night Out, and we’re celebrating the fierce, fun, fantastic females called daughters, mothers, grand-daughters, grandmothers, sisters, mentors, mentees, and friends. Join us as we create memorable moments together. Mrs. Sew and Sew is back to help each fashionista design and sew amazing figure eight scarves customized to fit even the smallest girls. Erika Hill, of Fusion Fitness, shows us fun interactive challenges with a fun-filled yet daring obstacle course to inspire girls to stay healthy and fit. Sewing into Dreams (sewingintodreams.org) is presenting a strolling fashion show of original designs by young ladies aspiring to become fashion designers. We’ll even get to enjoy the karaoke stage while we perform “Girl Power” anthems like Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper, Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys, Fighter by Christina Aquilara and so many more. We’re boosting self-esteem, promoting self-love and providing just plain ol’ fun times! Being pampered with manicures and mini-massages and performing the latest line dances, is a great way to spend the evening with the girls! Enjoy refreshments and learn how to make healthy yet delicious smoothies with a nutritionist. So turn off the television and put away smart phones, iPads, and tablets for this night of girl empowerment. The cost of this fun-filled event is $25 per person. Tickets are going fast! National Missing and Exploited Children's Day Monday, May 25, 2-4pm

Join us as we partner with The Commission of Missing and Exploited Children (COMEC) to share information to help keep our children safe. Come hang out with McGruff the Crime Dog, firefighters and police officers as you explore a real fire truck and police motorcycles. Participate in fun crafts and activities, make a colorful picture frame for your photo, get a fingerprint kit and get your face painted too. It's a day of good, wholesome, SAFE family fun.

May 25 – 29 Cooking Up Math & Science Camp Campers put on your chef’s hat and tie your apron tightly around your waist as you discover how a pinch of salt and pepper can improve your math and science skills. Join us this week as we cook up delicious, nutritious entrees of fun and learning. June 1 – 5 Climate Controlled Discovery Camp Explore the influence of our daily and seasonal weather patterns. Find out what causes the twist of a tornado, how the sun affects our climate and why birds fly south for the winter. Campers will discover the wonderful wonders of our weather. June 8 – 12 Camp Illusion Conclusion We are delving into the science behind the mysterious world of optical illusion. Campers will explore how specific illusions can deceive and mislead the actual information the brain receives. Is it magic or a deluded interpretation? You be the judge. June 15 – 19 Camp Couture Turn an old pair of jeans into a new fashion trend. Pack your needles, thread and the unique creations in your head then watch your design come to life on the runway. Campers will enjoy the basics of sewing and fashion designing in this creatively fun camp for boys and girls. June 22 – June 26 Exploration Station Escape into exotic places as campers travel to diverse cultures of distant lands. They will savor the flavors of countries like India, Japan, Mexico, Africa and China. Learn of their ancient traditions, languages and cultural dances. Bon Voyage, the journey is about to begin! June 29 – July 3 Masters of Martial Arts Camp This camp is for the karate kids in training. Here we will safely learn the disciplines of ancient practices in sword fighting, kick-boxing, and a variety of martial art forms. Campers will apply mental and physical energy to build self-control and self-esteem. July 6 – 10 Rat-A-Tat-Tat Music Camp Experience fun and funky rhythms while learning about notes, beats, timing and music composition. This handclapping, foot-stomping escapade uses percussion instruments and everyday objects to thump, drum and bang out the musical qualities of your little star. We’re bringing in local artists who will share their tips for success and techniques in music and singing. It’s an action-packed week of downright fun that you don’t want your little star to miss. July 13 – 17 AirHeads Academy It appears that we can’t see it. We can’t touch it or even taste it. Yet, we will investigate the powers of intriguing invisible air. Campers will conduct experiments to support or disprove myths about this fascinating state of matter. July 20 – 24 Camp CSI (Crime Scene Investigations) Campers become detectives to solve multiple cold case files involving forensic investigations. We will examine DNA, fingerprinting, hand-writing analysis, and teeth imprinting. Can these cases finally be solved by this investigative team of experts in training? If you are serious about crimefighting, we will look forward to seeing you this week. July 27 – 31 Motion Commotion Robotics Camp We’re feeding into the natural curiosity of math and science inquiries in a fun, creative setting. Campers will explore motion, science and technology by creating gravity pulled cars made from recycled materials and by designing and programming simple robots using LEGO robotic kits. August 3 – 7 Wildlife Wonder Adventure Camp Curiosity will run wild as we trek into the animal kingdom and uncover fascinating wildlife. We’ll study the untamed behaviors of bears and the bizarre diets of lions. No ferocious animal will escape our sensors. August 10 – 14 My First Classroom ***3 to 4 years So the older children are excited about returning to school. We’ll join in the excitement as you go to school too. This camp will help preschoolers prepare for “real” school. We’ll have subjects in math, reading and science just like “big” school, but tailored to meet the needs of preschool learning. "That's a Wrap" - Special Events at CMOM! The snow was flying and the eggs were rolling at the Easter Eggs-travaganza in April! The day started with the Yummy Bunny breakfast where guests dined on pancakes and met the Easter Bunny. Everyone loved playing the Easter games! The best was the egg hunt in the snow! Participants in the best Easter Basket and Best Easter Hat contests really wowed us! An eggselent time was had by all! April was the Month of the Military Child. The Red Cross came to CMOM and helped us to show these special children just how important they are in the Armed Forces Community. Families participated in games and crafts. The children all received t-shirts and pins from the Red Cross. Lots of smiling faces were seen at CMOM that day!
