Session 1: Suit Up! – Launch Your Hero’s Journey
 Mentor Conversation & Teaching
Touch (Connection Story):
Share the story of Malik from Max Potential — the student who didn’t see himself as a hero until he stopped a bully and discovered courage within.
Ask: “What is one small action you ’ ve done that made a difference for someone else?”
Teach (Key Concepts):
Hero’s Journey: Explain that every hero starts with an ordinary world but chooses to step into growth.
Purpose Discovery: Pull in Girl Talk – Do You! session themes: “Be confident in yourself and your purpose ” .
Visualize Potential: Students are pro athletes, superheroes, and entrepreneurs in training — they are Pro-Hero-Preneurs.
Materials Needed:
Blank “Hero Profile” worksheet or digital Canva template
Markers/colored pencils or tablets for digital drawing
Activity Steps:
1.Students imagine themselves as heroes 10 years in the future.
2.Design their Hero Suit – including symbols, colors, and superpowers.
3.Name their hero and write a 2-3 sentence mission statement (what they want to change in the world).
Encourage creativity but connect designs to values (courage, empathy, innovation).
Digital Journal Prompt:
“What is one thing I want to ignite in my life this year?”
“What does my hero stand for?”
Students upload a photo/scan of their Hero Profile into their online journal.
Students who complete the activity and journal entry receive their Launch Stamp on the S.T.A.M.P. Map.
Set one short-term goal to complete before Session 2 (e.g., kindness act, read one article about their dream career, or practice a new skill for 10 minutes a day).
Share their goal with a peer mentor or parent for accountability.
Each student shares one word that describes how they feel after starting their journey (energized, nervous, excited, etc.).
Affirmation: “I have everything I need inside me to succeed. Today, I choose to ignite my dreams!”
