VIOLA BRUGNATELLI: SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, INNOVATION, AND AWARENESS

Medicine is a science in constant evolution, reinventing itself with treatments, alternatives, and discoveries related to the human body. This evolution cannot occur but through research. Someone who understands the importance of sharing insights is Viola Brugnatelli, a prominent scientist with a proven record of investigator in the medicinal Cannabis field. Brugnatelli studied Neurosciences at the Dundee University in Scotland. During her education, she completed an internship in the Neurosciences department, which allowed her to get closer to her current career objective at that time: the endocannabinoid system. Following this appeal, she started working at the Neurosciences Center of the Ninewells Hospital and Faculty of Medicine, where

she could strengthen her knowledge on the endocannabinoid system and the orphan cannabinoid receptors, leading to the completion of her thesis project on the cannabinoid derivative receptors related to pain perception. Given her tenacious work on medicinal Cannabis, Dr. Brugnatelli was designated a member of the International Cannabinoid Research Society. Furthermore, she is the Italian ambassador of the International Association of Cannabinoid Medicines. Brugnatelli has performed multiple investigations on cannabinoids and their effects on the nervous system. For example, she investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of CBD and the interaction of the essential Cannabis oils. Another of her
