UNIFORM
Pre-School - Sixth Form

Clifton High School is a thriving independent School positioned within Bristol’s educational marketplace. Our uniform is a key element of our brand identity, embodying our core values to express a sense of contemporary traditionalism. In essence, this unites our pupils and represents the School’s brand image within the wider community and modern world.
Clifton High School’s uniform is designed to distinguish us as a School, elevating our identity and our reputation. It is one that is both modern and practical, ensuring our pupils are comfortable and prepared for a dynamic approach to learning. Our uniform brand aims to:
• Retain a smart and professional appearance
• Create consistency in both formal uniform and sports kit across all the year groups from The Hive Pre-School through to Year 11.
• Maintain a strong and recognisable identity
• Support a less gender-defined approach to appearance, allowing all pupils to feel comfortable and recognised in their dress choices
• Uphold our reputation through high standards of presentation both in and out of the School grounds.
We have been thoughtful in our commitment to affordability and sustainability, assuring parents of streamlined options that enables pupils to transition easily through the School with a consistent look and feel. our values in offering a uniform that pupils can transition easily throughout the School with the same look and feel to appearance. A value for money approach is fundamental with many items, such as plain shirts and trousers, available to purchase on the high street.
A Clifton High School uniform is one that provides pupils with a strong sense of identity and belonging. We pride ourselves on inclusivity and believe that uniform reduces the pressures surrounding appearance, allowing pupils to focus fully on learning.
As ambassadors for the School, both on and off site, all pupils are expected to adhere to our School uniform dress code policy at all times. Please refer to our School Uniform Policy for further details.
Requests for individual uniform adjustments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For specific queries, please contact:
• Infant and Junior School - Mrs Alice Taylor, Head of Infant and Junior School (ataylor@cliftonhigh.co.uk)
• Senior School - Mr Luke Goodman, Deputy Head: Pastoral (lgoodman@ cliftonhigh.co.uk)
In 2023, Clifton High School launched a comprehensive rebrand that incorporated a new and thoughtfully designed uniform. Following a twoyear transition, from September 2025 all pupils are expected to wear the full rebranded uniform and sports kit.
Our rebranded School uniform and sports kit are practical, hard wearing items that are designed for longevity. The attention to detail in the design is intentional in creating a professional appearance. Brand colours are subtly incorporated and accented through linings, piping, trims, lapels and panels
resulting a truly unique look that sets us apart from neighbouring and countrywide schools; enabling us to match our positioning as a strong, independent Bristol school.
As a School, we are mindful of the financial commitment involved in purchasing branded uniform and sports kit. Our official School uniform supplier, Schoolblazer, is renowned for their service to the education sector. They maintain high quality items at an affordable price-point, also offering discounts throughout the academic year.
To support our sustainability efforts, second-hand uniform sales are arranged regularly and communicated through the weekly Parent Bulletin.
