UNIFORM

Pre-School - Sixth Form

Clifton High School is positioned within Bristol’s educational marketplace and, as such, our uniform is a key element of brand identity. We feel it embodies our core values to express a sense of contemporary traditionalism, uniting our pupil population and representing the School’s brand image within the wider community and modern world.

Our Policy

Clifton High School’s uniform provides pupils with a strong sense of belonging. We are a School that prides itself on inclusivity and believes that a uniform reduces the pressures surrounding appearance, allowing pupils to focus fully on learning.

Both on and off the School site, our pupils are ambassadors for Clifton High School and are expected to adhere to our School uniform dress code policy at all times.

Requests for individual uniform adjustments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. For specific queries, please contact:

• Infant and Junior School - Mrs Alice Taylor, Head of Infant and Junior School (ataylor@cliftonhigh.co.uk)

• Senior School - Mr Luke Goodman, Deputy Head: Pastoral (lgoodman@cliftonhigh.co.uk)

For families with children joining Clifton High School, we suggest chatting to our Admissions Team who will happily support you in the School uniform and sports kit requirements for your child’s specific point of entry.

• Admissions Team (admissions@cliftonhigh.co.uk)

Our Brand Identity

Clifton High School’s uniform is designed to distinguish us as well as elevating our identity and reputation as a School. It is both modern and practical, ensuring our pupils are comfortable and prepared for a dynamic approach to learning. Our brand aims to:

• Retain a smart and professional appearance

• Create consistency in both formal uniform and sports kit across all the year groups (The Hive Pre-School through to Year 11)

• Maintain a strong and recognisable identity

• Support a less gender-defined approach to appearance, allowing all pupils to feel comfortable and be recognised in their dress choices

• Uphold our reputation through high standards of presentation both in and out of the School environment

We have been thoughtful in our commitment to affordability and sustainability, assuring parents of streamlined options so pupils can transition easily through the School with a consistent look and feel to appearance. A value for money approach is fundamental with many items, such as plain shirts and trousers, available to purchase on the high street.

Practicality

Clifton High School’s uniform is designed with practicality in mind and offers:

• Machine washable fabrics

• Age-appropriate fastenings (i.e. zips for younger pupils)

• Durable materials

• Multiple cut and length options for comfort

Purchasing & Affordability

From September 2025, all pupils are expected to comply with our updated and rebranded School uniform requirements.

Our official School uniform supplier, Schoolblazer, is renowned for their service to the education sector, maintaining high quality items at an affordable pricepoint. They offer discounts throughout the academic year, free name-taping and a personalised customer support service.

We are mindful of the financial commitment involved in purchasing branded uniform and sports kit so offer second-hand uniform sales as an economical and sustainable means for families to purchase good condition items for their child/ren.
