CO-CURRICULAR

Infant & Junior School

2025-2026

OUR CO-CURRICULAR APPROACH

At Clifton High School the Infant and Junior School education we provide extends far beyond the classroom environment, with a focus on firmly realising the individual brilliance of every child.

Our Co-Curricular Programme facilitates this recognition by giving pupils the chance to experience a wide spectrum of opportunities that expands their interpersonal and communication skills, emotional intelligence and confidence. It is intentionally curated to develop these qualities and, in our opinion, is integral in nurturing children’s wellbeing. It is also a vital motive in us encouraging them to step outside of their comfort zone.

In grasping new co-curricular challenges with enthusiasm and excitement, pupils are awarded with lifelong learning gateways that open their world to adventure and minds to the exploration of boundless possibilities. Whether this be in the performing and creative arts, sport, outdoor pursuits or intellectual development there is something for everyone.

Clubs mostly run after-School in the Infant and Junior School, with a small number taking place before School or during lunchtime. Clubs and Wrap Around Care are booked on an easy-to-use online platform called SOCS and whilst most are included in the School fees, some specialist clubs incur a small charge.

If you have further questions about our Co-Curricular Programme, please contact the Admissions Team via email admissions@cliftonhigh.co.uk or telephone 0117 933 9087.

These sessions are led by qualified swimming instructors, and our whole-School Swimming Programme is overseen by our Director of Swimming, Mr Jez Birds.

For those who wish to swim competitively, we partner with Bristol Henleaze Swimming Club, allowing pupils to access further swimming training before and after School depending on ability level and age. We also offer after-School swimming sessions for those who wish to swim for fun.

Adventure Programme

Our Adventure Programme broadens an appreciation of the natural world for pupils to embrace challenges that help develop environmental awareness, survival skills, self-confidence, resilience and teamwork.
