Instructor Focus
Hi everyone! I’m Immy, a Fitness Instructor here at the Clifton College Sports Centre. I completed my Exercise to Music qualification in 2024, as after many years of attending group fitness classes I wanted the opportunity to motivate and inspire clients myself. I’m so excited to teach classes to the Bristol community and bring fun, teamwork and positivity to all of my sessions. I love group exercise and I’m passionate about ensuring classes are inclusive and accessible for all, so if you have any questions or just want a chat, I’m always available. I teach kettlebells, HIIT and circuits classes, there’s something for everyone so come along and get involved! Alongside the gym, I love running and ran my first marathon in 2024 - hopefully the first of many. I also enjoy hiking and getting outdoors, and as well as teaching fitness classes I’m also an outdoor activities instructor!

Member Review
“I’ve been a member of the Clifton College Sports Centre for over 20 years and certainly plan to renew my membership every year.
Initially, when our sons were quite young and about to start at the College, we were attracted by the combination of swimming pool, gym and the opportunity to play badminton or tennis at a location within walking distance of our house. More recently, now that our sons have moved away, I’ve taken advantage of the various available classes, including pilates, yoga, body conditioning and spin classes.” - Keith M.
If you’d like to be featured as one of our members in the next newsletter, please let us know!

Thank you Raf!
Sports Centre Duty Manager, Rafael Heeb is leaving us after over ten years working at Clifton College.
Raf has worked part time with us alongside his undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering and then his PhD at the University of Bristol.
Raf says he is really going to miss the customer interactions and has loved the conversations with the Sports Centre members which have covered subjects from watches to travel to complex engineering problems!
We wish Raf well in his new role as a research associate where he will be developing new sensor equipment for particle accelerators!

New Addition to Our Pool
We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of our brand-new inflatable, and it’s already making a splash in the pool!
Our Holiday Club have been enjoying hours of fun on it, and we’re planning to offer it to our members in upcoming family swim sessions. Stay tuned for more updates.
February Open Weekend
We had a brilliant time hosting our Open Weekend at the Sports Centre in February, and we want to thank everyone who joined us! It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces into our facility, giving them a taste of what we have to offer.
Throughout the week and over the weekend, many of you also took the opportunity to try out our new fitness classes, including sessions held in our brand-new Chellaram Sports Complex. Our goal moving forward is to build on this momentum, keeping our existing members involved and excited, while also introducing more people in the local area to the benefits of our facility.
We’re looking forward to hosting even more events like this in the future, and we hope to see you all again soon!
