Donor Rights Policy

Philanthropy is based upon a voluntary action to aide in the public benefit and to increase the quality of life for all those touched by the contribution. In order to maintain a level of trust between our donors and our organization, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, and our respective donors, we acknowledge that all donors have these rights:

I.To have access to the organization’s mission.

II.To have the ability to determine how the funds will be used to support the organization.

III.To be able to determine, independently, the capacity of the organization to effectively use donations.

IV.To be able to access information regarding the identity of those serving on the organization’s governing board.

V.To trust that fiduciary responsibility will be practiced in regards to decisions affecting the organization.

VI.To have access to the organization’s most recent financial statements.

VII.To receive appropriate and timely acknowledgement for the donation.

VIII.To know that the personal information gathered by the organization will be treated with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

IX.To expect that all relationships with the organization of interest to the donor will remain professional in nature.

X.To know whether those seeking the donations for the organization are volunteers, employees, or hired, outside solicitors.

XI.To have the option to have their name removed from mailing lists, both internal and to be shared externally, at any time.

XII.To be able to request information of the organization and receive prompt and honest responses prior to, while, or after making a donation to the organization.

Donor Privacy Policy

Ethical standards and values are the cornerstone for creating and maintaining trust. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, we are dedicated to ensuring that donor information remains private. In keeping with this, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio does not share or sell donor information, such as names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc. In some cases, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio may contact individual donors seeking approval to publish individual donor stories within the donor network on organizational publications. However, this information will NEVER be shared without the prior approval of the donor. All donor requests to remain anonymous will be honored.

We reserve the right to update or change this Donor Privacy Policy at anytime. When the policy is updated it will be posted at the bottom of theDonorRightsPolicyandDonorPrivacyPolicy.
