Classic Airstream Club Caravan News Are you willing to donate some of your time? We are in need of officers for the coming year. Please send a resume for any of the following positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer or Council Member. We also have Standing Committees: Arrangements, Constitution and Bylaws, Caravan Coordinator and Public Relations. We also elect members for a Nominating Committee so please volunteer! July 3rd CAC Annual Luncheon/Business Meeting in Sedalia, MO Members who are coming to International Rally in Sedalia, please note that the Classic Airstream Club luncheon and business meeting will be from noon until 2:00 pm on July 3rd, in the MEC Building on the rally site. It will be a buffet catered by Country Bumpkins and will include drinks (water, tea and coffee) and dessert. Cost is $6.00 per person. (The club picks up part of your cost). Make checks payable to Classic Airstream Club, WBCCI and mail to Kay Corder, Treasurer, 1002 SW Allendale Blvd, Lee's Summit, MO 64081 no later than June 10, 2012. Tickets will also be available at the Classic Airstream Club table during registration at International.. A Free Ice Cream Social will also be arranged so watch the Bulletin Board or get the information at the registration table.

Dear Fellow Classic Airstreamers, As many of you know already, Dale Bannon, who was elected President at the DuQuoin International rally, sent a letter of resignation on February 27, 2012, saying, I quote, that it had “been impossible for [him] to function as President of the CAC”. I took the decision not to step up as President knowing that I would not be able to attend the International rally in Sedalia, MO. Kay Corder, our Treasurer and Past President, in her message in the May Blue Beret, asked if you were willing to donate some of your time as CAC officers and, from experience, I would greatly encourage you to do so. It’s a great club and we have great people. The list of the positions available is elsewhere in this newsletter but I just wanted to highlight the fact that, as you see, a prerequisite for being President is to be able to attend the annual business meeting at International. Also, work as President is limited but don’t presume that there is nothing to do. The quantity of work is not overwhelming and anyone who has good will and an interest in the club qualifies, but being responsive when the members need you is the quality that will be the most appreciated. There are short reports to prepare for the IBT meetings and messages to write for 3 newsletters a year; you’ll need to make arrangements for the annual luncheon and the ice cream social. Past President Kay Corder has been of such a great help in the situation we were left in after Dale’s resignation. She is certainly the person you want to contact for more information. For me, it has been a great pleasure to serve the club as Vice President and membership chairman, and of course webmaster, position that I intend to keep despite some new professional activities. However if any of you feel an interest for the job, please speak up and let Ben or Kay Corder know about it (email bencorder@att.net, phone 816-524-5240.) Dear Cousin Marie, Thought that you might be interested in the happenings of the Classic Airstream Club at Florida State. You remember that we never pass up the opportunity to enjoy Food and Fellowship- generally at the same time- this was no exception. We all enjoyed a “Snack and Drink” get together and had 28 members there including a new couple- Gene and Ingrid Nelson- and bless his heart he's going to download and print the membership application off the Internet. Gene was on the ball- he worked Engineering with the committee and we all had a grand time getting to know him. Members in attendance were: Bennie and Jean Woodall; Rich and Suzan Stevens; Jimmie Johnson; Karen and David Apple; Bill and Joan Bucher; Arleigh and Joan Wells; Mary Potter; Inez Bowman; Kate Ellis; Tony Turner; Jimmie and Bettie Jones; Lamar and Becky Smith; Mike and Betty Ivy; and Ray and Audrey Wagner You would think that all of us went to Florida to rest and enjoy the warm weather- but these folks were really busy at the rally- they all had working jobs and are all members of the Classic Club! Hope I haven't forgotten anyone- but you know the old gray mare is not what she use to be.

Mary Potter was the Rally Chairman this year and was really busy. Every time she addressed the group she said how hard everyone worked and thanked them for making her job easier. We missed those of you who were not with us and look forward to seeing you somewhere down the road. Dues are payable to Kay Corder July 1 to June 30- check your CAC Directory- that question came up many times during the “ Snack and Drink” session. If I missed anyone – please excuse me. We all had a very nice time and the weather was just about what we had hoped for.
