I hope everyone had a restful break and is feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting term of music-making. We’re looking forward to building on Term 1, hopefully with less interruptions. Despite the interruptions, Term 1 was filled with exciting performances, new enrolments, and wonderful community engagement.

Thank you for being part of our CVCon community. Let’s make Term 2 a term of creativity, connection, and musical joy!

All students from Term 1 2025 have been re-enrolled for Term 2 2025, unless you have indicated otherwise.

2025 Schwinghammer Scholarship

Toby

Smidt

We are excited to announce that Toby Smidt has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Schwinghammer Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding musical talent, dedication, and leadership.

Toby, a passionate and hardworking young musician, has consistently demonstrated an exceptional commitment to his musical studies. His positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to contribute to the wider musical community make him a deserving recipient of this award.

The Schwinghammer Scholarship, established to support and nurture promising young musicians in their continued musical journeys, will provide valuable assistance as Toby takes the next steps in his development. We look forward to seeing where his musical path will lead and have no doubt he will continue to make a significant impact in every ensemble and setting he joins.

Congratulations, Toby!

Our thanks go to the Schwinghammer Foundation and their continued support of the CVCon.

Scholarships like this make a meaningful difference in the lives of emerging musicians.

Visiting Artists Series Tonya Lemoh - Piano

Saturday, 3 May CVCon, 7:00pm

This program is inspired by the poet T.S. Eliot’s line, “So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing’, drawn from his poem East Coker (Four Quartets 1943).

The poem explores ideas of death, transformation and rebirth. This recital presents piano works which reveal composers at their most tragic and profound, juxtaposed with works of colourful vivacity in an affirmation of the dance of life.
