World and culture

CULTURE WORLD AND

It has been a year of broadening our pupil’s horizons beyond the walls of Claremont, whether it be through geography, history, arts, environmentalism or languages. Trips and visitors have been a big source of inspiration for the children this year, encouraging them to get excited about other cultures and the diverse environment that they live in.

CREATING NORDIC BRACELETS

Prep School pupils have been enjoying learning about all sorts of wildlife and different cultures in Bugs, Birds and Bushcraft club. They enjoyed making Nordic bracelets by swinging string from trees in the walled garden this summer.

Year 6 enjoyed an afternoon out to see The Lion King at London’s Lyceum Theatre in April. They were wowed by the African styled colourful costumes, bilingual singing and savannah landscape staging. The performance was great inspiration for their own summer production of The Lion King.

ISLE OF WIGHT

In May, Year 6 travelled to the Isle of Wight where they got to experience a change in scenery and culture. In between their exhillarating activities at PGL, they got to soak in the history of Osbourne House as well as admire the geographical landscapes of the beautiful beaches.
