OVERVIEW

There are so many lovely memories and highlights of Nursery this year. The children have embraced each and every one of our topics; looking at homes and houses, celebrations, space, minibeasts and the jungle! With each topic, we had an accompanying key text to extend the children’s vocabulary. The children drew some wonderful story maps to retell these. During our minibeast topic we had some wriggly visitors to our classrooms in the form of baby caterpillars. The children eagerly watched these grow every day and got to see the life-cycle of a butterfly happen! In the Spring, we had wonderful trip to Wisley where we went bug-hunting and planted a Nasturtium seed. We concluded our jungle topic with a visit from Zoolab, who brought a snake, giant snail, gecko, tarantula and cockroach. It’s been brilliant to look back with such fond memories.

“I liked pumpkin soup, we stirred it and tasted it. I had two cups and it was so yummy!” - Lucas

“I learnt how to write letters and also my name. I like to make stuff and draw pictures.” - Orla
