Year 1
‘I really enjoyed our visit to Chertsey Museum because there were lots of old toys to look at and play with.’ -Alex

OVERVIEW
Over the last year, the children in Year 1 have made lots of wonderful memories and had a busy year of learning, exploration and fun. From travelling back in time through a Great Fire of London workshop and visiting Chertsey Museum where they played with toys from Victorian times, to discovering how nature can both inspire and amaze at Kew Gardens and Wisley, the children have found that there are that there are opportunities to learn and create everywhere we look. During the spring term, their curiosity and eagerness to learn flourished through their study of the challenges affecting our world. Their discovery that many beautiful animals around the world are in trouble, truly captured their imagination and led to persuasive posters and a green screen video project which sought to make us all take better care of our planet. This passion for learning has been woven through their entire year and led to many successes and achievements that have made their teachers feel very proud and happy to have been a part of.
